| Wigan seem have made a new signing in Richard Silverwood..... they have had him nearly every game this season and certainly have him for all there tricky games and cup ties.
When they are under the cosh and threatened, or its a tight game, he seems to conjure up penalties out of nothing for them, which baffle most people watching as to what there for.
It raises the question, does Mr Silverwood count on their Salary Cap allocation or is he classed as a club official ?

With us being the better side these days, we are licking our lips at inflicting more misery on Wire in the coming derby. I expect a fairly straight forward win.[/quote:1d72a5qw][b:1d72a5qw]Wire 44 - 6 Widnes[/b:1d72a5qw]

| I thought yesterday's game was poorly refereed in general, but that Wigan got the rub of the green (not least for the build up to their first try and the forward pass that put Richards in for their second; but the touch judge is probably more to blame, as usual, for not spotting that).
Bailey only gave one penalty as far as I recall (for pushing over Logan Tomkins in back play), but it was in a bad spot for Leeds. He should have been binned for me, though.

That's Ryan Bailey for you. Remember his attack on Richie Myler in the Grand Final? This is obviously a ploy with him/Leeds as it sucks others in and away from the ball/attack/defence

The penalty count seemed fairly even, though I don't know if they came at critical points in the game ?

That's because it was refereed by Silverwood.
Do you see the correlation?

It sure worked, half our team forgot about trying to catch up on the scoreboard and went for a bit of shamozzle from what I can remember! Probably alone in this, but I like Bailey.
NB this little obsession some of our fans seem to have with Silverwood this year is rather puerile and boring.

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

It goes a lot further back than that for some of us. Silverwood referees how he feels the as to how it is going and not the rules. Poor referee.
