| There are some other threads on here about how the format of Super League needs changing because fans are bored of these meaningless fixtures and are starting to lose interest.
But for years now the Challenge Cup has had dire crowds, the only time people get interested is in the semis and final.
So how can we change the format to stop there being meaningless fixtures that the crowds aren't interested in early on, and get the crowds coming back to the Cup.

Mummy duck is now thoroughly depressed. SHE was the one that was famous for losing five in a row........until the 2011 GF!!!!!: |
|
| Dare I suggest that interest in the CC has dwindled in direct reversal to the emphasis on the GF ?
As for increasing crowds in the early rounds, there is only one answer......reduce the admission price. BUT as a business model it will suit clubs to get half full grounds at full price than 3/4 full at half price.

| Dare I say let a team go through each round who get beat due to them not fielding their first 17 squad then allowing them to win the final.

| Publicity and advertising. Bring in a professional advertising company to do a job on it.
Capture the imagination of fans with some decent video's, persuade the BBC to make a short film. Get some past players talking about finals. Focus on 'giant killing' like Fev beating Cas last year. Talk about our history and heritage. All that sort of stuff.
Think about this. We have loads of initiatives at present focussing on our heritage; The Huddersfield heritage project, Wire have numbers for all our players now and we have the heritage wall completed in the concourse. The RFL bought Odsal because of it's history. So why are we neglecting what I view as the most important piece of our history dating back to 1897 ? It is virtually the start of RL as we split from the rest in 1895. It should be the emblem of our game. It's neglect is bordering on criminal.

| we could re-name the winner the MEGA SUPER DUPER CHAMPIONS and the BBC could set off £100,000 worth of fireworks..... the winner then gets to play the winner of the Heineken cup at 'twickers' the following year in a hybrid league/union game... players could then put themselves in the shop window for a move to the more lucrative version of the sport.
That should do it.

| Once the game was pimped to Sky TV all tradition was consigned to history...We then started from the year zero. Of course then became blessed from the move. We now have muscle bound tattooed automatons with out a brain cell between them and that's why most of us are bored with the game.

| Once the winner has lifted the trophy at Wembley, start a new competition where the two finalists play the losing semi-finalists with the losing teams playing again the following week, the winners go into the new semi-finals.
The losing quarterfinalists also play each other with the losers going out and the winners playing the following week.
The following weeks winners join the 1st week winners in the semi finals, winners to the final.
The winner of the final is crowned the Super Challenge Cup Winners.

Darlings of Super League: |
|
| The only thing that will capture the imagination is if one of the smaller teams manages to win it. Imagine a Leeds v Hull Wembley final. Boy's Own stuff.

| Too many one-sided games in the early rounds. Super League teams should only join the competition at the quarter-stage.

| Scrap the Magic weekend (in it's current format).
Lower league teams play until 18 remain when they are joined by SL clubs. SL clubs are seeded so that they cannot meet each other, and must play their tie away. The 16 winners then play their 8 games over 2 days at a neutral venue similar to the current 'Magic' concept.

| Each team fields two women no bigger than a size 12 with massive norks, the 11 blokes play as normal.
The women wrestle in the middle until only one is left who then joins her side 12 v 11 unless the last two are from the same side, then it's 13 v 11.
Women only have to touch tackle, and the attacker has to motorboat, slowing down the ptb.
Subs can only be dwaves and you're allowed 7 (Burrow doesn't count). A dwarf try counts for more, 6 points and to convert you have to toss one over the H. That gets an extra 3.
To improve sponsorship every player has to change his name to Tarquin or Rupert, George is acceptable but must be double barrelled. 50% of fans must own a Range Rover or Jag and have at least one blue cheese in the fridge

| Call me cynical if you like, but I don't think some of these suggestions are entirely serious.
