Pan Y Vino is a great call for quality tapas but for "poshest/up-market" I'd guess that French one near Warburton bridge probably fits the bill.

La Boheme at Heatley. Very nice too.
Grill on the Square in town is good. |

Went there the other day. Food was decent, staff were remarkably rude (a couple of exceptions, but pretty poor given the prices they charge) and, despite the blonde lass there being easy on the eye, I probably wouldn't go back because of the overall service experience. |

Honestly, you are best hopping the train to Manchester.
If you insist on staying in Warrington, the slim pickings are: La Boheme (fantastic), Pan y Vino (good tapas), Spirit (nice surroundings, good food, limited menu).
