I've decided to bin my Sky Sports package due to a) the almost meaningless nature of the league games and b) I intend to go to more Wire away games.

Has anyone else decided to cancel their Sky Sports package this year?

I gave the reason as "premiership football has become predictable" so as not to count against RL termination figures.

Google LS Hunter and you can blag most of satellite TV including RL...Picture quality leaves a lot to be desired but you can see what's going on.

ours is due for renewal in the coming weeks. I've told the missus if she cant haggle them down by £30 Quid. she can bin sky sports and I'll pay a separate 10 quid a month for premiersports and Watch the NRL games instead.

I still like the superleague product but the money we shell out for SKY telephone, broadband, and HD TV with kids channels and Sky sports is ridiculous. So it might have to go......

RL is one of the few sports I find quite easy to get up for any fixture. Don't let Leeds last two wins put you off, it's the exception rather than the rule. They're a champion team, it's down to us and Wigan to carry on our good regular season form into the playoffs.

I always cancel my sports subscription as soon as the rugby finish's, not renewing it this year as the weekly rounds are so poor.
Personally i think you should have given the reason being the weak weekly RL fixtures, if people aint told it's broke it won't get fixed.

We're not going to cancel Sky Sports but Premier Sports was cancelled, and it will now remain cancelled as Baffito's have subscribed to it. So I should still manage to see a fair amount of NRL and Championship.

We did call Sky up in October and got £10 a month knocked off until April.

Make sure PS confirm they have NRL first! Still not sorted who has UK rights.

Getting the full Sky HD package for half price over the next 12 months so won't be cancelling at all, plus I watch a lot of other sport/programmes.

Premier Sports will definitely be subscribed to even if they don't have the NRL because they NHL is on there for the next 4 years.

I didn't know people still paid for "Sky" to watch sport.

Well to be fair most people with acces to Google and basic typing skills can Watch Anything for free wether its Saturday 3pm kick offs in the premier league or NRL rugby, but Id rather watch it on SKY plus on my large HD telly from the comfort of my sofa, sometimes recorded to watch at my leisure rather than sat at my pc watching some grainy rubbish....

it would send me mad not being able to rewind a game when scrutinising one of Gansons dodgy decisions...

Plus I cant bear to watch normal telly now I go straight for the HD section...it infuriates me when My missus watches Emmerdale on standard ITV when there is paid for ITVHD going to waste..!!

Some strong market signals coming out here. Why does Sky bother paying all that money to the clubs for the right to televise rugby league when fans aren't willing to pay for it anyway (especially when they can get it for free on the internet). I doubt the RFL are exactly great negotiators so if Sky want to play it savvy they should put the RFL over a barrel and screw them down to a good price or just walk away. The good players are all going to go to RU or NRL anyway.

Having had a year having to make do with Sky Go for my RL, I'll happily pay whatever they want to charge me to watch it on my nice big tele in HD

Had a spell of watching NRL online too, but binned that off. HDMI cables do help, but broadband speed just aren't good enough for top quality pictures (yet).
