Most of the Leeds players will have won a number of Grand Finals which of course is credit to their superb achievements over the past few years but there are a lot of guys in our dressing room that have had great careers but this is one thing they have not yet had. I hope this will mean in some way we will want it more than Leeds do.

The guys that have got Grand Final winners medals are Morley (Sydney Roosters 2002, Bradford 2005), Higham (St Helens 2002), Waterhouse (Penrith 2003) and Hodgson (Wests Tigers 2005).

Solomona (Sydney Roosters 2000, Parramatta 2001), Carvell (Hull 2006) and Michael Monaghan (Manly 2007) have played in Grand Finals on the losing side. Hodgson also lost a GF with Parra in 2001 before going on to win with Wests. Joel Monaghan has never played in a GF but he was on the losing side in a World Cup final for Australia in 2008.

Some of our younger players will hopefully play in future GFs but for some of our players closer to the end of their careers you never know when or if they will get the chance again. Sadly Solomona won't get a chance now but for Briers, the Monaghans, Carvell and Westwood this may be the only chance they get to round off great careers with a Grand Final winners medal.

Just a minor point here. NRL Grand Final winners did not receive medals from 1999.They were replaced with Premiership Rings.

Even those four players will be champing at the bit I reckon. Morley won it with Bradford in a fairytale end of season cameo on loan, and fair enough, but I'm sure he would take extra pride lifting the trophy as captain of his own team. Higham has had plenty of doubters throughout his career, so to win his second Grand Final ten years after his first after arguably the finest personal season of his career would be a great achievement. Then for Waterhouse and Hodgson it's their chance to complete the NRL and Super League double.

This Leeds team are the masters of winning at Old Trafford, we all know that, but on paper we've got the stronger team, we've got the experience of finals - including beating Leeds in one only a few weeks ago - and there should be a massive amount of motivation in our dressing room.

Very few people in attendance will remember our League and Cup double of 1954, so most will regard this team as the greatest Warrington side of all time in our minds if we win it. That's some carrot for all the players.

We haven't actually won it yet and I suspect that song won't be put to bed by Saints or Wigan fans unless we do.
