| As you may or not may know, Swinton are your new ‘lower league’ partners. The one thing that us Swinton fans were worried about was a loss of identity for the Lions. However, after a meeting last night with the powers that be from Swinton and Warrington that worry has been put to bed. With the use of your training facilities etc, I am of the opinion if this if this is worked at from both sides that it could well benefit both teams.
I’ll admit that we bring less to the table than you boys, so for me I can see the benefits to us. However, I’d quite like to get the fans view on this from your side of things.
Cheers.

| It will help our younger players get more competitive games in a harder leage than they are currently playing in and give the club a chance to see if they are ready for a step up to super league.
D o we get first dibs on swinton players who look like they could do well in sl ?

| I dont think many people actually understand what is going on with the new system, myself included. Perhaps you could elaborate?

| Well from what was said last night it looks like we can play any member of Warrington squad.
Nobody knows how it will work really. (typical RFL) it could be a fact that you register 10 and pick from those 10, or it could just be almost dual contracts. I imagine that Warrington will get first dibs on any player that Swinton have playing for them, but I imagine that this will be down to the fact that the two cubs will be doing some training sessions together.
The clubs dont even know how many can play on a match day. Somewhere between 4 and 6 seems to be the educated guess. I guess we will know more nearer the time.

| If it helps Rugby League prosper then I'm all for it, whether of not Warrington gain any advantage.

They'll probably tell everyone an hour before kick off on match day 1.

| I know some lads who support both Swinton and Salford. Is that common? If so I'm surprised Swinton haven't made a dual contract arrangement with them.

That is very uncommon. Most of the die hard Swinton fans would rather die than have anything to do with those pink lot down at the Sewage Stadium. There would be even less of fans going week in week out if we had any sort of relationship with them.
I imagine it would be like asking a Wire fan to be happy about a similar thing with Widnes, or Saints and Wigan fans.
Only the sheer hatred that we feel towards the pinks goes some way past both those examples!
