| When I went down to Wembley its fair to say I had a negative opinion of both sets of fans. I was wary as I went with my pregnant girlfriend, however my experience of the Wire fans this weekend was nothing but a positive one. I stayed in Uxbridge and there were plenty of fans from Warrington, drinking and having a good time, all in good voice before and after the game. They werent abusive or looking to fight and in fact one particular large group of bought us a pint because we swapped tables with them so they could all sit together when having their meal. I know Warrington get alot of stick about their fans and their alleged behaviour so thought its only fair to offer praise when its due. The laughs and banter I had with complete strangers before and after the game added to the memory of a great weekend. Those of you I encountered, thank you for a great time and congratulations on your win.

| Glad you enjoyed your day. Looks like there have been plenty of people viewing this topic but not expecting what you posted.
I wouldn't say we get a lot of stick about our fans though. There was the odd isolated incident two years ago and plenty of finger pointing between us and Leeds but aside from that I think it's quite rare to see us mentioned in a negative light.

| Although the good lady and I didn't witness anything in around the ground yesterday, reading posts in the Leeds forums there was a lot of misbehaving going on!

| To be honest some of the Wire fans behind the sticks got on my nerves yesterday. They weren't looking to fight or anything they were just embarrassingly tanked up.
Fair enough have a few beers but the problem is for some of these fans, an occasion like Wembley isn't about the game, it's about how much they can drink. They were obviously smashed off their faces before they even got there, were staggering to their seats, and all game you have to keep standing up for them to go to and from the toilets and to come back with more beers.
As always happens when people are completely bladdered they lose any sense of caring about how their behaviour looks to others, it's just loud mouthed swearing and inane comments all through the game, enforcing their crap match analysis on everyone else. I like it when someone makes a witty comment that makes everyone laugh but not when it's just repetitive, there were some blokes near us banging on and on all through the second half about how Kyle Leuluai should have been sent off, and it should have been Ganson as Silverwood had it in for us, and Paul Wood is no good any more and should have never got a new contract. They were just saying the same thing over and over again.
I mean when Wire are running in tries and bound for Challenge Cup success surely you can have something more positive to say than f-ing and jeffing about Paul Wood.
Well I guess rugby league is an inclusive sport so we have to put up with these idiots, if we want attendances to grow

| I saw plenty of bad behaviour but it wasnt from your fans, it was the Leeds fans, abusing stewards, shouting swearing. One steward asked one idiot to stop swearing after f--ing and c..ing because children were present and he simply told the steward that he could F off as well. Again, Wire get alot of stick over fans but they contributed to a top weekend for me.

| Better to stay generally sober, nothing wrong with a few social pints, and actually remember and enjoy the game....

Oh Sally, you speak my language
Yesterday, gets on coach with Mrs G, and lo, 20year old slapper (with a voice that could be heard over my mp3 player AND the coach's radio) who "seranaded" the front of the coach with "We all hate Leeds scum" ad infinitum.
She was drunk by 9 am. Delightful. Imagine our "delight", when we saw her in the ground, she was only 8 seats away from us on the same row, and spent the whole game going back and to, to the khazzi. That's me and the Mrs standing up every 5 mins to let the p155-head through
In the ground, sat in front of us, we have 5 neanderthals, black tracksuited-up, all with a number 0.5 shaven head's with the obligatory Chinese writing tattoo on their neck, BLADDERED, spilling beer, standing up ALL THE TIME. I ask neanderthal No1 to sit down because he's blocking our view, to which he replies "I stand up at matches...'swat I do...sit infront of me" (there were empty seats, the row in front of them, but funnily enough, I don't like beer spilled all over me)
Luckily enough, 3 of the neanderthals went back to their coach at half-time (really, they did, unbelievable), only for 5 more neanderthals to join the remaining 2 for the second-half. Cue more beer spilt, then the obligatory smoking, then throwing beer 20 rown down whenever we scored (expensive habit)
Some of their quotes "This is the best Grand Final I've ever seen"
"Who's that?" x20 (obviously not got a clue about our players)
"####ing 'ate Leeds, they're just scum"
Why do we attract these pr1cks, every time we reach a final
Stick to the bottom end of Bridge St, PLEASE.
Mrs G walks away (obviously delighted we've won) but totally peeved that her first Wembley has been overshadowed by nob-ends behaving to type.

| Got to say, from where I was sat, I completely disagree with sally. I was in row 6 and everyone around me was in high spirits, funny and, well, wet! The smile never left any of the wires around me and the bradford, leeds and neutral fans around were providing good banter. Maybe you were higher up but when I ran to find cover everyone seemed fin; except for a leeds supporter who was effing and jeffing and losing himself and then when spoken to by a wire fan said he was used to the rain becuase the GF is in October. I never thought it bad; my point was that everyone around me behaved brilliantly.
I'm sorry your experience was so poor, I really am.

| I've only just recovered, i'm staying out of this one but tbf most of my drinking was after the game, had 4 pints before it and 2 during (1 for each half), still remember the game quite well.

| Had 2 steaming Wire fans get in my face and scream "Your crap" - (was wearing mi Cas shirt). Whilst that statement was true, felt a bit offended considering I wanted Wire to win. But let's look at the bigger picture, there was what (35,000ish is that a fair estimate) Warrington fans there. Fantastic turnout, most generally in the right spirits. (there's a thread on the Leeds board which points that a few of their fans had issues with the ale, it happens), with near enough 80,000 people there, I think the day went pretty damn well.
P/s Congratulations on the win.
