| Can anyone remember the full name and other details about a former Wire player in the late 80's and possibly very early 90's. His surname was Duffy and his 1st name possibly Don, he was Australian.
What position did he play for us, was he any good? How long did he play for us and what happened to him?
Any information will be gratefully received.

Mad dog Duffy
Signed him from Parramatta - tough back rower - in 1990, until 1992:-

More info here:

He didn't care who he wound up or had a go with - I remember a game v stains at Wilderspool and he was winding Kevin Ward up - pulling his shorts right up like Ward used to do and beckoning him over to have a go!!!
Was 100%, but passed his best when we got him.

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

| The most bow-legged player I have ever seen. I was amazed he could actually run forwards. He looked like a human crab.

| Was Duffy the guy who apparently threw a tennis ball against the wall in the chnaging rooms before a game to get his hand-eye co-ordination right. He should of tried it with a rugby ball; he might have been able to catch one then.
An import to be filed in the dark recesses of your mind next to Adam Doyle and Michael Sullivan.

No the ball (squash?) was Paul Marquet. It didn't work.
