| Just read it on the Daily Mirror website.
(I don't read the Mirror, but it came up on a Google Alert)

| Keep it quiet but I've heard he's leaving. Something to do with Ben Harrison.

| Quote: Fatbelly "This is old news and refers to him signing an extension earlier in the year.
Well the story is dated 20-Dec and reads...............
ENGLAND Knights half-back Richie Myler is staying at Warrington.
For a second time this year the Wolves have been forced to dismiss speculation about the 21-year-old’s future.
And agent Martin Offiah confirmed: “Richie has signed an extension.”
Myler has become a reported target for his first professional club Widnes Vikings. The ex-Salford star has also been touted as a recruit for Wigan Warriors.
However, coach Tony Smith insisted: “Richie is a big part of our plans.”
Smith was forced to deny reports last season that Myler was bound for Hull FC.
To show their commitment, Warrington gave him a new four-year deal.
Myler is expected to feature in Warrington’s Boxing Day friendly against Widnes

| if true guess it puts all rumours to bed and also states that a certain "incident" was either not true or completely forgotten

| Rumours that have been suggested could make young Richie the automatic choice for next year's Man of Steel (Jack the lad section).

Ahhhhhhhh Mr 10% pops up again. Contracts are not worth the paper they are printed on, it just adds to his value when the next mug club comes in for him.

| So does that put to bed the rumour?
Wonder if it was all a wind up by the players? Wouldn't have been the 1st time!

| Sounds to me like the headline writer has misinterpreted things there. It looks like they've contacted his agent Martin Offiah and he's given the classic no comment saying he has signed a contract extension (meaning earlier in the year). If he had signed another contract extension then the club would have announced it and nobody signs a contract extension a few months after signing up for four years.
When something's afoot the classic no comment answer is just to say what the current 'official' state of play is. Like when a player who is in talks with another club is asked about their future, they get told to say "I have a contract with X club, I'm still an X club player and am committed to bringing success to X club".
That story on the Mirror website is saying nothing so no it does not put the rumours to bed.
The way to put the rumours to bed would be for Richie Myler or the club to come out and explicitly say that it was all a fabrication, nobody is doing this, so there is probably something going on even if it is not directly as has been reported on forums and twitter.
The difficulty will be, as we paid a big transfer fee for Myler (in RL terms) and have him on a four year contract, moving him on represents a big loss for us unless somebody else pays a high fee for him, and other clubs might be looking for the opportunity to get him on the cheap. Man City are this position with Tevez but their dirty laundry has been washed in public with Mancini telling the press what he thinks of him etc, whereas we aren't doing that.
But in light of the above it may be not an appealing option to let a quality young player go on the cheap to a rival who has taken advantage of the situation and so the best option might be to keep him on our books and if something has gone on behind the scenes, hope that the repercussions fade over time.

How does it? If it was true(and I still hope it's not) it doesn't mean that the parties involved will all be happy with him staying!

Accurately summed up I think.
