This is one thing I've starte to notice everytime the players come over to the stands to clap the fans after every game home & away Matt always holds back and doesn't clap everytime, why is this? Has anybody else noticed this

He probably doesn't like the fans after all the crap he got off them when he first came over.
In hindsight, the problem at the time was with the coaching set up not with the players.
As we soon discovered, what we had was akin to Jeremy Clarkson coaching the top F1 drivers.

Get a life he waves to the fans that stood by him when most fans were giving him grief he has always made a point of clapping & waving to my son after every game because he was one of the few who has always supported him Matt has always been & always will be a top guy

Phil Clarke will have the stats on how many times Matt has not clapped, how many actual claps and how that compares to the average SL player and how it compares to Wigan who have the best claps to player ratio.

Always knew Wigan was a haven for STD's.

Why do the players need to 'clap' the fans anyway. The players have been busting their asses playing 80 min of rugby league while the fans have just stood watching drinking beer, they haven't done anything of note.

got to agree it is a mutually beneficial relationship.

We pay their wages and we get a great service in return.

They perform well they get a nice clap at the end. They have often said a good crowd raises the atmosphere (in fact TS said something to that tune just last week), so when we cheer good, we get a nice little clap back.

Seem to remember reading in the Guardian that he had told Waterhouse how good the support is at the HJ.....

Matt King will rip you lot to pieces once he's back in the NRL. Watch his first interviews, they'll all be back handed criticisms of the Wire fans. The way you behaved before he turned out to be half decent was pretty poor.
