| i forked out my hard earned last night on the boxing, and to be fair i thought it was a half-decent bout. i was dismayed at the post-fight analysis though when 'the hayemaker' blamed his poorly toe for the defeat! talk out letting yourself down!!
it got me thinking however of the brave acts (some may say stupid acts) of what some rugby league players have done over the years and carried on playing;
1. alan prescott playing a test match with a broken arm
2. andrew johns playing the arl grand final with a punctured lung
3. shaun edwards playing the CC final with a broken jaw
4. michael de vere having his head stapled up in an origin match
5. andy farell having to wear that perculiar 'snood' to stem the blood flowing from his broken nose!! i think jon wilkin may have done something similar too!
there must be loads others....

| Why anyone would pay for boxing is beyond me, almost every fight i've seen has been an anti climax.

| I didn't even watch the fight and I wasn't even aware of the result until lunchtime today. But I wasn't surprised by the outcome and Haye's excuses.

| Why do some people pay (if they have internet access?) I watched it on a crystal clear stream on my laptop. Glad I didn't waste my money.
Benny Westwood tweeted to Woody yesterday that he played in the Challenge Cup final with a broken toe and two torn calf muscles.

32137_1302980312.jpg Fat blokes in the mud, flat caps, bogs that drain pi55 directly onto your boots - Now it's all 'Big Ask', 'Arm Wrestle', 'Collision' 'Contact' 'Facials' 'Upper Body Strength' 'Big Units' 'Scooting from Dummy Half' 'Energy Levels' 'Laying the Platform' ‘Middles’ and 'T-R-Y'. | Boxing for me has declined massively since the 80's.
The Pay per View just makes its worse and less accessible

| Complete tosh in my eyes
IF Haye fights again, he'll need skateboarder's kneepads on, as his knees must be knackered, after all that kneeling down he did, after flinging himself to the canvass about 10 times.
From delaying the fight 15 mins (thus making Lennox Lewis look a total bell for the the pre fight introductions), to Haye's total disinterest in the fight (did he actually get into double figures, for meaningful punches thrown), and then the farce of a press conference, in which he cites a sore tootsie as his downfall....Haye's not exactly enamoured himself to the British sporting public.
Side point, Jim Watt has got to be the worst sumerisor/pundit in the world (calm down Clarke haters). For 10 rounds, he absolutely slated everything Haye did, then for the final 2 rounds, he started praising him, for no apparent reason...baffling.
And as for Johnny Nelson/Carl Froch/Barry McGuigan in the studio before the fight...that was just a competition as to who could shout the loudest over the other two.
