| The nearest thing you'll see to Sean Edwards.
Absolute class apart to anything else in British RL.

| As much as I dislike him you can't hide from his talent and his attributes. He's class and the frightening thing is he's still only young as will still develop. Scary to think what he'll be like in his prime.

| Shaun Edwards wasn't anything like Sam Tomkins in style, Edwards in the main was a support player than ran off the shoulder of anyone that made a break and he distrubuted well, he certainly didn't have the elusive running style of Sam Tomkins.
Edwards was very good at what he did, a very solid player that played in a very good Wigan side but he was nothing like Sam Tomkins in style.

| Have to admit he was extremely good in attack tonight.

Agree. He can read a game so well, and his vision when running with the ball make him the most dangerous player in broken play IMO.

His side-step is awesome and one of the best I've ever seen. He ghosts through defenders like there not there sometimes. He's a tough cookie aswell.

| In terms of an attacking fullback the only player that comes close to him at the moment is Hodgson, although he does still needs to iron out a few defensive errors and he is playing some wonderful rugby league although it pains me to say it.

| He may grow out of his petulance, and then gain the respect of other teams fans that his skill and ability deserve. Not sure that the wigan fans would want that though. I'm sure that all the annoying stuff comes from the other quality he has. He is extremely competitive, and would do anything to win.

| I would love to see him go the NRL and see how he does for a few years, second rate Aussies come over here and rip up SL so its difficult to judge how good he is, in comparision to the best rugby league players.

| He's obviously got a lot of skill and ability, but he comes across as quite greedy at times and reluctant to pass the ball if there's even the slightest chance he can score.

| Yes Jax I agree with that, I remember last year in the playoffs when Wigan were against Leeds, and he must have ignored overlaps on 3 separate occasions within a space of 10 minutes so he could do that left foot step, the Aussies seem to nullify it easy enough.

| He has started to get a rep for being a bit greedy the last few games. Thankfully though they've been in games where they weren't punished, but it'll happen once in a big game and hopefully he'll learn from it.
Biggest point from all those stated so far is that he's so tough, he gets knocked from pillar to post but gets up and carries on with it. People call him petulant but whenever he gets nailed it's never him that gets up and reacts. The worst one I saw was Howell for Quins against him a couple of years ago, straight elbow to the head at full pace, 30 seconds on the floor and he was up and going again .
Hodgson is of the same mould, not big strong guys, and get nailed time after time but get up and carry on. There's always been a question mark for me over Briers with regards to that, as he's the sort of player who could play in a tux and not get a mark on it some nights, can be untouchable but doesn't get smashed regularly like a FB.

Agreed. Would be nice to see an English back go over there and make the big time.

| I can't really see him ever being able to succeed in the NRL or trouble the Aussies on the international scene - simply not big enough and players like Inglis etc will run over him.
