Don't really rate that as a hit... anyone can swing someone about 6 stone lighter around... kids do it all the time in primary school... not sure how it wasn't an illegal tackle, considering his was spinning him around by his collar, surely not allowed to choke players!

That was a good tackle in terms of it broke off a dangerous counter attack from the fullback and won a scrum in a good position, but I wouldn't say it was a big hit or anything, look how fast Hodgson gets up.

Hodgson's not a big guy and he used to take hard punishment all the time in the NRL but I remember whenever there were discussions about "toughest player in league" on Aussie forums, when people used to mention guys like Geoff Toovey, Glenn Lazarus and so on, Hodgson's name used to come up as toughest back, he was well known as being hard as nails.

I see him like Dessie in a less demonstrative way, he's only a small guy but pretty much indestructible. In fact it would have been interesting to see Dessie's reaction if Gordon Tallis had done that to him

Mind you if Tallis had done that to an ex union player who was just starting out in league, that clip would have become porn material to some of the users on here.

Hodgson doesn't look like he could fight his way out of a paper bag.... The reality is he has been returning kicks and getting hit for 15 years and he is still going strong.

Some people are naturally tough. Hodgson is one of them.

I wish they'd allow those sort of tackles, really can't stand this new dragging into touch penalty rule, if it happens to you and you give away possession tough.

On one of those clips Ray Warren says "and Hodgson now becomes outright the greatest points scorer for a fullback in league history". I didn't know he had that honour!
