"I've not come 'alfway round t'world fot watch us lose. And I've come halfway round t'world, an' av watched um lose":d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10123.jpg

Before I start, I'm NOT tarring Warrington supporters with the same brush. I spoke to plenty Wire supporters last night and had a good crack with them. I was sat amongst you at Wembley when you stuffed Huddersfield and I had a great time. You also deserved your win last night, so trust me - this is not sour grapes.

However all clubs sadly have their idiots and I'm sorry to say we found one of yours last night. Some of you will know the bloke in question, - he's not exactly inconspicuous - and I daresay some of you will have seen the altercation I'm about to describe to you, as it happened immediately after the game behind the North stand, as the supporters were leaving, in the middle of hundreds of people.

Very tall bloke, about 6'5 and with his girlfriend decided to get in the face of a Wigan supporter last night and come out with a personal insult towards the supporter. As happens, the odd Wigan supporter walking past shouted 'shut up diickhead', including my mate, who is about 5'6 and about eight stone wet through.

Your supporter than launched himself at my mate, saying "who are you calling a diickhead?" and basically battered him. A great big 6'5 "hard man" goes for a lad about 10 inches shorter than him.

I wouldn't mind, but he wasn't a kid out with his mates - this was a bloke in his mid to late twenties and out with his wife/girlfriend. And I'm not being funny, but the last thing any of us wanted to do was wade in, because that would have triggered a brawl, and I'm sorry - I ain't getting involved in that. This is Rugby League, not football.

This is being reported to the DW stadium, and will also be reported to your club. If any of you know who this man is, I suggest you say something to your club, because if this behaviour is what you think is acceptable, then I'm sorry but that makes you just as bad as this neanderthal is.

Sorry to hear about your mate. Hopefully someone reading this will also make a report to the DW stadium. Might be worth posting up how you reported it?
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_23997.jpg

Saying 'shut up d*ckhead' to a guy whos had a few will not go down well

If he said 'here mate leave it' then fair enough but saying that is like a red rag to a bull

probably right KW, doesn't excuse the meathead's response to it either though. Hopefully whoever it is is caught and dealt with in the appropriate manner, and at an absolute minimum excluded from any more Warrington games (how do sports (including footy) teams enforce that by the way? I've always wondered).

I appreciate that but the point here is that a few people said the same thing at the same time, yet he went for the smallest man. What does that tell you?

Don't get king warrior as your legal representative.

A lad I knew from uni who had just finished a law degree ended up doing a few months inside for self defence in a brawl outside a club in London. Some lads had been provoking him and his mates and rather than walking away he gave them a mouthful of abuse back, so this other guy started on him. He retaliated and the other guy ended up with broken cheekbone, jaw and eye socket. So he ended up getting jailed basically because he was hard and his retaliation did a lot of damage. Maybe he got carried away but when you're in a fight and someones starting on you, the adrenaline takes over. As normal he came out after half way through his sentence but that night out ruined his career prospects, how does he get taken on as a trainee solicitor when he gets asked "do you have any criminal convictions" and he has to say er...yes I spent time in prison for assault...

The problem with street brawls is they aren't good to lose, but if there are witnesses or cameras they are worse to win.

Eh do you know what self defence means?

Too right your mate should have gone down no need to town on someone who cant do anything

What you're suggesting isn't self defence.

That said, if I had been the OP I'd have stepped in.

Hopefully there is CCTV footage and both clubs can communicate with each other to get this "hard man" banned from all future RL games

That is not self defence, you cannot act in self-defence for another person. Saying that, you could restrain him, hold him down etc. but cant go in fists flying. I know what you're getting at BUT the OP did the correct thing, for himself. If he'd had snotted the bloke he'd be in just as much trouble, even ignoring the fact it would then be 2 v 1.

So your mate was getting battered and you were more interested in telling the internet the next day than doing anything about it?

With friends like you...
