A quote from Lee Briers' twitter. A possible indication that he may be moving on at the end of the year , could possibly be nothing but it raises the point , surely lee is worth another year or 2. I for one will be sad to see him go whenever he decides too do so. thoughts?

I never take anything said on twitter as gospel. If the club release a statement, i will believe it more likely.

yes it does sound like that. I personally think we could give him another year. He is a mature player with the best rugby brain in the league. I'd take a punt unless there is some deal lined up where we can only get Benji this year and not next.

He has to go at some point. Can't keep him forever but if he carries on the way he's playing at the moment he will get another deal with us for sure in my opinion.

I'd be very surprised to see Briers go to any other SL club.

Kings contract is up could see him and Lee going and a top Aussie half back coming in,

I would not be suprised to see Lee at Widnes and btw that is his Twitter account.

I'm sure it is just some things get on twitter that either aren't true are aren't meant(/to be there).

Also, i hope he gets another year. Although if we get someone like Brett Morris on the wing, he will be missed.

If and when Lee decides to join another SL club, I could see it being either Widnes as they will want a few big signings on their likely return to SL and he would be joining up with Cull again or Crusaders due to his Welsh links.

I still think he can do a job for us for at least a year though.

Briers isn't going to say he's playing for us next season if he hasn't agreed a contract yet. But I am certain he'll be offered one and accept it if he carries on in his current vein.

Me personally, i wouldn't read in to that too much.

What that means to me is 'yes I'm still good enough to play SL but who knows in rugby for me to say conclusively if it will be Wire, although i hope it is'.

btw is it a slow news day were that is taken as a rumour he may be leaving ?

I had tp join to clear this up a little for u all as im sure briers wouldnt want everyone thinking he was leaving. I also go onto twitter and someone had put a picture on twitter off a flag that had been made for briers blue on the top and yellow on the bottom on the top it says lee briers on the bottom its says 1997 legend 2011 Lee said it was very humbling that ppl thought of him in that way and had a few responses one said something about the fact that whoever had done it had only put till 2011 (i personally think that they did this because of the year we are in) and Lee's response to someone mention the year was the post put at the top off this topic. i honestly think it was lee trying to let the wire fans know he isn't planning on going anywere cos alot was telling him he better stay.

I think it helps that the background is researched a little before letting ppl start to worry about wether he will or wont stay. i personally dont think he would ever go to another club having been with the wire for so long his heart is well and truley with us.
