So technically at the moment, with KR having de-registered Dobson, it seems that he would be a free-agent......simon, chequebook please???

unfortunately, its a poor situation, as id love to have dobson as a replacement for briers, but the best and probably only way to bring him in would be to let go of lee. shame this isnt happening 12 months down the line. |

I believe he's only been de-registered to allow Willie Mason to play sooner rather than later as he's currently classed as an overseas player and once they've sorted another passport via his heritage (some distant relation thing) he'll not be an overseas player at which point Dobson will be re-registered!

read the link above, having been de-registered he is now a free agent, and will only be allowed to play for HKR again this season should the RFL say its okay, until then he's fair game. |

Dobson is a good player but i think we could do considerably better when we eventually look to replace Lee Briers, the replacement for Lee Briers needs to be at least the equivelant quality or better, i don`t see Dobson as equal to Lee Briers.

Dobson probably fits into Rovers long term plans far more than Mason does. Unless someone within the administration of the club has made a huge balls up (and not realised the full consequences of deregistering) then I'm sure that Rovers will have some form of agreement with Dobson to prevent him moving on.
