No, our team is complete now we have signed Hodgson. We have strength in depth already with the likes of Mitchell, Mccarthy, Blythe, Williams and Cooper all capable of stepping into the side and doing a good job.

He seemed quite surprised I was pushing him on this matter and claims he has made the same statement many times.
I have heard from several sources that some of the youngsters coming through the ranks are very good - we also have to have EIGHT home grown players in the squad - on top of existing salaries I think you will find it would be very hard for warrington to make any big name signings without going over the salary cap - or off loading someone who is already signed up for next year and/or beyond.
Lets not forget if we had beaten Wigan at home (and we very nearly did) and done to Leeds what we did to them at Wembley - would would have finished top of the league and had an even more successful season.

With 3 players leaving and only 1 signed money must be tight. If were that close to the cap for next season you can only summise that Hodgson will be gettng paid the same as Mathers, Vanderson & Penny combined.

why would you summise that?

No one knows how close (or how far) we are off the salary cap... one thing we do know however is that we offered hodgson less than huddersfield did per year.

The only position I thought you'd been lacking a little in was loose forward, but now you've got Hodgson that extra pivot isn't really needed to you can play another 2nd rower there as you have been doing.

You'll be there or thereabouts again next year, as long as Morleys body continues to hold up.

On the evidence so far i wouldn't say that Matty Blythe is anywhere near SL standard, i'm not convinced with either McCarthy or Mitchell either based on what ive seen of them for us and at Leigh. Mike Cooper is more than capable as he's shown that already, he needs to kick on now when he gets his chance.

From what other people have said Rhys Evans seems to be the one that has a more than a decent chance of making the step up, ive heard Craig Harvey has potential as well.

You back what Tony Smith says, if he's happy with what we have for next year then so am i. We just give opinions, he's been there, seen it and done it.

We haven't only signed 1 though have we? Don't forget that from the Under 20s Ben Evans, Rhys Evans, Craig Harvey, James Laithwaite, Gareth O'Brien and Jamie Peasnell have all signed full time for next season aswell as Rhys Williams.

This is why Tony Smith says he has confidence in the youngsters coming through.
