..... by supporters who don't watch the game of Rugby League and simply wait for the tries.
A bunch of lads were stood next to me who really didn't have a clue. Comments such as...
'Solomona is crap, has done nothing in the last 20 minutes.' Erm firstly he had been on the pitch for about 10, in that time we hadn't had an attacking set of 6, so other than defending, the guy hadn't had the chance.
'Briers and Monaghan don't have a clue, they are crap'. Oh please - they may not have had the best game but based on this season alone they are perfectly 'clued up'. They are only human and let's face it, Saints weren't giving them the opportunity.
'Why aren't we spreading the ball?'. Well that is precisely what we were doing, and it was the wrong tactic in the rain.
'Saints are playing crap and we can't even beat them'. No Saints were keeping the possession well, not allowing our lot to play our usual game, scoring down the middle.
'Why are we dropping the ball, we didn't at Wembley' The ball was like a bar of soap, we were forcing the pass, defending for so long is tiring, it was raining, the players are probably hitting a bit of a come down after Wembley - the most important game of their season. Saints played better so we were forcing it all the more.
So we lost, no we didn't play well but I guess it was on the cards. But I do wish people would appreciate the game and the opposition as a whole?
