Get yourself in Fitzgeralds www.fitzgeraldsbar.ie/ which is just across the O'Connell Bridge. If you cross the bridge (south bound) it is on the main road and I think it's the first pub you come to.
It's a bit of a dive but they are very friendly in there and they have a few TVs that show different games. As long as there are no football games on Friday and you get there early enough they should put it on for you. They also sell Carling for 3.75 euros a pint. I know Carling's not to everyones taste but it's a lot better than paying 6.50 euros for other lagers. They also have entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. Check to see if Totally Wired still play there and if they are on, make sure you definitely get to see them. They sing and do some comedy, normally taking the Michael out of those sat at the front and walking in and out of the pub.
