| Its looking like Mr Smith (Peace and Blessings be upon him) has all but got his squad for next season signed and sealed.
There is one re-signing that we need to do PDQ and that is Matt King.
Matt is contracted to us until the end of next year and has been in outstanding form for a long time now and has shown what an absolute class player he is.
To read in the near future that Mr King has signed a contract extension with us would be Christmas come early  |

Not so sure myelf. As well as he has played this season there is a question of salary. IF we could get 2-3 players of quality for the same money i'd let him go.

But I reckon the best thing for Warrington would be to leave him without an offer to see how he goes next year. He's 30 this year, 31 by the end of next so he would be dangerously close to that horrible 'He wants 2 years, club wants 1' age.
You also have the boyo Rhys Williams (Or is it Evans?) that's meant to the dogs danglies. You don't want to be sacrificing a potential home made superstar for the sake of an expensive import.

I have heard a lot of good stuff about Rhys, but he is only 17 and will need another three years to mature not just physically but in terms of reading the game.
Saddened , what you say about Matt's age does have resonance but I think Matt still has [sizeat least [/size4 years of top class RL in him. |

You are not going to get 2-3 quality players for Matt King's salary, if you define quality as State of Origin standard preferably international standard, then you will get 1 quality player for Matt King's salary.
King is a pretty good value for money overseas player, how often does he get injured or suspended? He can't have missed many games and I rate him one of the best 2-3 centres in SL definitely. |
