| For me he was the weak link today. Apart from his grubber through in the 1st half for 1 of our trys he was poor. Slow, poor decision making, kept dropping the ball. For me he should be "rested" for the Wigan game.

| Very very poor.
I don't think I've ever seen him pass a ball!

| He wasn't brilliant today.. But he has been a steady player this seaon in briers absence... He will never be a regular starter in a top side though.. He is a bit of jack of all trades, master of none.

| In a fully fit squad he may struggle to get in the first 17, but we have relied on him quite a bit due to his versatility. Excellent squad player to have.

You must have been at a different game to me! Grix was everywhere today and was involved in four of our tries from
memory. For me he reads the game very well and is a steady influence on the team. I certainly don't believe his decision making is poor? I would always have him in the starting thirteen and believe his best position is at loose forward. The score would have been much closer without him today as he made some crucial cover tackles.

| Not a stand off. Played better in the back row.

| In attack a few kicks went astray - but then Briers can be no better. During the match I remember thinking his 4th kick was great and a try was scored so I guess if every 1 in 4 kicks worked perfectly then...Also at least he got stuck in with the kicks and had a go - took Myler a while to get started here. He is asked to move across positions and his defence is really good - something people underestimate. He keeps out of trouble and gets on with it. As pps have said, very handy, hard working squad player.

Wire 2nd in the league, in the semi final of the cup ... "a top side?"
Wire - number of games played this year - 21 plus 3 = 24
Simon Grix - number of starts - over 20?

yes ok.. what i meant to say was another top side.
Say for example his contract was up at the end of the season.... Would you see saints, wigan or leeds trying to sign him? I wouldn't have thought so.
He has done a decent job this season for us in various positions and im not knocking his effort.
In my opinion in 2 years time, when smith has brought in and shipped out more players, grix wont be a regular in the 17.

| Got to agree with Deckchair. He's a decent enough player but as we should always be looking to improve the squad, he's one of the weaker performers.

| He's like an Ablett though. The good player who will always do a reliable job for you and helps you make the salary cap. Say we replaced him with Sinfield, we'd probably have to lose someone like King to provide the space on the cap.

Yes but hopefully we can replace him with a decent young player from the under 20's... who earns less than grix, freeing up more salary cap money so we can replace king with Inglis
