After last nights bruising encounter and the loss of Briers, the Giants are the worst possible team to play next in my opinion.

Our record there is a little indifferant and there going to want a little payback for the Challenge cup final loss.

Hopefully we can play with the same sort of intensity as last night otherwise i feel a defeat maybe on the cards.

Smith will have the whole week to get the plays set without Briers being in the team and choose his new 6 till he returns its a major blow but you have the deal with injuries.

Play at the pace of the first half last night and I really think we will beat them.

They will have spent half the off season trying different combinations. If our pack can get us near their lin Monas can open them up.

The game last night could have ended up with any result with 5 minutes to go.
In the past that defeat would have taken us weeks to get over but the difference now is Smith.
We now have a coach who will analyse that game and take the positives, learn from the mistakes and build confidence in the squad.

I agree Mona's should defo stay at 9 I like Grix he's got the talent just not had a run of games in recent seasons.

When Briers left we lost all co-ordination and organisation in attack. We stopped creating chances, so this will be a real test for Myler to prove his worth.

Agree taht Grix should come in at 6 and leave Monas at 9. Hope last night never knocked too much out of the players in terms of what St Helens defeats have done in the past. Will be interesting to see what happens when Hicks & Clarke are declared fit to play again.

I'd hate for Wigan to be going to Huddersfield a week after last night game tbh.

They're just so tough to play against because they do the basics and wrestle for their lives. It's the sort of game you want to be going into on the back of an easy game so your as fresh as you can be.

In saying that it's not a game you can't win. If it were us i'd want us to play the game wide and try and run them off their feet. Don't play it around the middle.
