| Overachieved for me in 2010, still dont think they're good enough at halfback to win trophies, although Hodgson does a great job of joining the line. They have a very dangerous back row and some depth. In Lunt they have a real find and shocked quite a few last year and will. Im expecting them to tail off and finish around 5th.

| 5th or 6th, agree they over achieved ,think they may move Brown to loose and bring in Mcnally ,if they don't they may not get in the top 6 imo !

| doubt mcnally will get a game this season
brown is an important player for us, we fell apart in attack when he was out for the season last year
gone for more strength in depth this year, very strong in second row and attacking options but light in props
will be hard to repeat a 3rd place finish and cup final but looking for a better shot in the play offs this time

| They were as strong as anyone on there day last season. And they had quite a few of those days.
If Brown can get them peeking at the right part of the season, then they could be in with a chance.

| Won't finish above us, leeds, saints or wigan. That's the top 4 nailed on. Could easily finish 5th although need to keep crabtree and mason injury free. Think hull could make the top 6 as well if they bring a decent coach in.

| can`t see them repeating last years success..they may well struggle to be in the top 8...teams like wakey cas and hudds will fight it out to get the final couple of play off places..

| I think they'll do well - challenging for Top 4 with Leeds and Saints at the top and us, Hudds, Catalans fighting for third. They have SL experience right into the 20+ numbers in their squad. Lack a little quality at half back for me but excellent at FB, hooker and back row with Crabtree kicking on after a very good 4 nations in the front row.

| I don't understand why people think that Huddersfield overachieved in 2009, and this means they will have a less good season in 2010?
They finished 3rd in the league on merit and had the best defence in the league, a title which is usually monopolised by Saints. They did this after bringing in a new coach who toughened them up and changed things round. They didn't overacheive they just achieved!
The only reason they could have "overachieved", is by looking at what happened in the past under the regime before Brown, just like we overachieved by winning a trophy under Tony Smith, when you compare it to what used to happen when we never won trophies?
Does this mean that we are set to slip this year because we overachieved last time, and Warrington aren't meant to have success - just like Huddersfield aren't?

What happened to him looking for a club in Australia, did it all fall through?

| Its a tough one to call for me. They have recruited in the pack well but gilmour was always a good player in a good squad, will he be able to be a good player in the huddersfield squad?
They were sound defensively last year but my issue is can they maintain it? new players generally means new ideas/time to gel.
For some reason i just cant see them doing as well as last season. I believe Bradford, Hull FC & Catalans will all improve, so where does this leave huddersfield? I just cant call it this year. will be closer than ever this year!

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

| The CC final seemed to be a bit of a watershed for them. Huddersfield had won their games by quick, compact defence. We seemed to expose them in that game, then other teams followed suit.
Biggest obstacle is Brown bringing more new tricks from Oz.

| I see Hudds in top 6, I think Mc Nally will get a shot and maybe improve them in the Halves I dont think they have the quality to challenge for the big titles. I think Brown got found out tactically in the final having said that he fully deserved to be coach of the year.

Ding-ding-ding.
One trick in defence was cruelly exposed by one Lee Briers kick at Wembley, and they never looked half as cocky in defence again all season. They were the epitome of the "solid" game, five drives and a kick and decent defence, but I always thought they were lacking in brilliance (Brett "knock-on king" Hodgson wasn't nearly as good as people would have you believe).
