| If they have a bit of luck with injuries they may just sneak into the 8,They'll be hard to beat at home as usual but no disrespect to them i'm not expecting huge things from Cas this season...

| Truth is that none of the sides bar possible Leeds are strong at the moment.

| With Owen, Dixon and Shenton there's young talent there in their backline, Chase and Sherwin guide the team around well and come up with brilliance at times. And Westerman is a great young loose forward.
They always seem to be a prop forward and a second row light for me though.

| Was impressed with Sargent last year, had a blinder when they beat us at our place. Our second game should be a really good test for us.

| In Shenton, Westerman, Chase and Sherwin, they have players as good as, if not better than any other team in superleague in those positions. Admittedly, they could do with another forward, but I expect them to finish above Warrington in about 5th position.
As for the poster asking if they over-achieved last season, then no is the answer. If anything, they under-achieved. If their home form matched their away form last season, they would have finished 2nd.
Alongside Hull KR, Castleford are the only team to threaten Leeds next season.
Do not under-estimate them.

| I think that's a little exaggerated. Cas are an enigma for next season - will Westerman live up to his promise of 2 seasons ago or be the slightly disappointing player he was last year who failed to live up to his reputation; will Shenton recover from the trauma of his 4 Nations & continue to make the progress he did last year; will Chase & Sherwin avoid injury? I think they should make the 8, but they'll do exceptionally well to finish top 6.

Is that a wind up ? He was excellent in the final prior to injury. If your asking will he recover from being knocked out ? You'd have to think we'd have heard by now.

Wouldn't have called him excellent in the final, but was largely anonymous for the rest of the tournament...

I just hope Chris Bridge recovers from his four nations 'trauma' then.

Darlings of Super League: |

| A couple of key injuries and that squad is totally scuppered. I like Cas a lot and I hope they have a good season, but they look light to me. There's no doubt that their best 17 is capable of turning any team over on any given day.

wouldn't have classed him as anonymous, as a 3/4 you're only as good as the service you get from your halves and not much ball went out that way, similar to how GB and england have played for years which is why gleeson always got stick for not doing nowt, can't do anything if you ain't got the ball.
Defensively, he was top notch though.
