If you don't think that sort of stuff doesn't go on over here you would be mistaken. Never ceases to amaze me that players (and in some cases parents) think that being on a rugby field lets them behave in a fashion that would lead to them being charged with assault.

How well have the penrith junior league dealt with it though, You don't often see 20 year bans in any sport.

I have witnessed an incident much worse than that at an under 15s game last season, Lads lined up for a stoppage in play 20 meters apart, as the game re-starts a coach shouts 99 and his team runs and his opposite man and starts hitting him.

Saw one lad on elbows and knees kicked full force in the head and others jumping up and karate kicking, they where like animals.

Bans in this country for that between 4 and 6 games and fines totalling £600 that both clubs had to pay.

In the past 2 weeks in this area there have been 2 instances of children's football matches where a child has fouled another child, and the father of the victim has then come on to the field and 'panned' the transgressor. This is by no means unusual.

Far too many ADULTS pushing average kids to be something they aren't.

I really hope they get locked up, they certainly should do.

Got to confess i hav coached for a number of years now and not seen anything like that ever.But must admit thou some parents dont help matters.

I play football and i would never think of dong that to an opponent.

Its only a game.

May be generalising a huge amount here, but when my lad used to play (from Under 6's through to Under 8's) it always seemed that parents from wigan clubs were the worst. It seemed as if they all felt their little Keiron, Clyde, Luke or whoever was the next Andy Farrell and could do no wrong.

I've seen a parent from another team march onto the pitch and confront an 8 year old effing and blinding at him. The 8 year old was guilty of throwing one punch after being on the receiving end of a multitude of punches, kicks, pinching and hair pulls throught the game (it was clear that as the largest child on our team they had been told to target him and the referee/their coach conveniently missed the lot). The parent got even more upset when instead of bursting into tears or running off, the child involved calmly and simply stood there whilst another kid told him that it was wrong to swear infront of kids. At this point the referee/their coach abandoned the game.

'Best bit' was, and my lads little claim to fame, the game ended up in the Sun and the Star where the story was completely reversed and our team were made out to be monsters who beat up their little angels.

i played for Parkside as a kid and the worst team in the league were Standish, the adults used to threaten us and would shout to their little darlings stuff like

" hit their number 9"

Royton Tigers were also a very dirty side as too Saint Helens Crusaders.

Ashton were a pain in the backside for different reason, they would on cue from the coach feign injury at key points in the match so that they could set their lines which was blatant to everyone but the ref

bold miners are a dirty side, as are folly lane at times

A few years ago i was playing at a tournement in portico where blackbrook had atleast a fight in every game they played. We got through to the final against them and it was so bad our coach refused to play them as in the first set of six in the game they were already throwing punchs into the tackle.

bloody disgrace if my lad was one of the assailents i'd of kicked his good and proper when i got him home
