| What does everyone think he will do? Find another SL club. Maybe a NL1/Championship club would be a good place for him to go? Or stay with us? Personally I'd like him to stay here in some sort of coaching/media/anything else sort of role.

Yea, model professional. I would imagine he is a very good influence and has a lot to add to our youth set up.

| Worth a one-year contract. With Penny still learning and, I expect, back at Widnes for a while, we only have two recognised first-team wingers in Hicks and Riley, having a third would be sensible cover.

If Carney stays (and Smith didn't mention him in his list of players leaving today ) I would expect him to be 1st choice with Riley as back up for both wings ! and bridge to be back up centre and Clarke to be back up hooker !

Where did you get this ground breaking news from at this hour from? Is it someone who had been on the pop allday? Hope you're right though.

| I reckon he's got another year left in him. I reckon he'd make a great backroom staff member, some sort of consultancy role or, as some have said, a media/ambassador-type role. The bloke just oozes charisma and this sport needs more people like him.
Plus to have the proud province of Ulster represented at the top level of the game is a great antidote to the 'small sport nobody outside of the coalmines cares for' Fleet Street stereotype.

32137_1302980312.jpg Fat blokes in the mud, flat caps, bogs that drain pi55 directly onto your boots - Now it's all 'Big Ask', 'Arm Wrestle', 'Collision' 'Contact' 'Facials' 'Upper Body Strength' 'Big Units' 'Scooting from Dummy Half' 'Energy Levels' 'Laying the Platform' ‘Middles’ and 'T-R-Y'. Let’s not forget resilience.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_32137.jpg |

| Carney should stay for a whole raft of reasons. With him fit he could be 1st choice or operate as a back-up and long term I'd like to see him involved in coaching. By far the most media friendly and savvy bloke in RL.
