It's all very well saying 'don't risk him next week' but by doing that we're risking the playoffs. I think there's more to consider than just Wembley.

What are the playoffs though, an extension on your season, a bit of fun. It's incredibly difficult to win it from eight, incredibly difficult. Was it 2006 we won at Leeds, had a go at Bradford but came up short. Wigan try to do it every year but ultimately come up just short.

If you're to get your hands on that trophy, you're looking at four finals back to back, it's borderline impossible. I've not side a side in SL, play at a consistently brilliant level for four weeks all season, not one.

We'd be looking at say

Wigan (a), Hull KR (a), Leeds (a), Saints GF, say. Too much

Now, we're looking at Huddersfield (n), focus all efforts on that for me.

Here here, I couldn't agree more. After our poor start to the season all I realistically wanted/expected was a good cup run. Well it doesn't get better than a final at wembley does it? For me, this season has been a suc cess already, a win at wembley will feel incredible. Couple that with the capture of Sir Smith well the future looks very bright indeed. Forget the play-offs, they're just a one/two match extension for teams like ours at our stage of development.
Concentrate everything on the final and bring that cup home.

Finishing out of the eight would mean we arent even a mid table side. Thats unacceptable evne with a poor start and a change of coach.

We need the momentum for next year. I want us finishing the league well and carrying that forward. Its possible to fight on two fronts if your sensible about it.

I think Smith was smart last night in resting players for the wakey game if rather than play them carrying knocks. I could of course be reading too much into the team selection but I think we could have fielded a few more players but chose not to.
