Have been struck down by the feared flu yesterday. Have got to stay indoors for five days. Anyone else been taken ill with it or know anybod who has it?

What are your actual symptoms mike?

Are you really poorly with it?

Its exactly like a bad case of flu. Temperature is very high, very achey and a banging headache. Havent moved from the couch

Also how was it diagnosed?

The reason I ask is that my two kids both have cold like symptoms (cough, snotty noses etc) but they have also gone off their food and aren't as playful and boisterous as usual. It just seems like more than the usual cold.

They diagnose it over the phone. Because it has spread so much recently, most GP's wont let you come anywhere near the surgery so they check the symptons over the phone.

My best advice would be to go on NHS direct website and check your kids symptons against the symptom checker. If still worried give your GP a call.

Been prescribed them, the other half is going to pick them up for me at 5.

Somebody at my high school had it, 5 days later they were better though...

Do you have to stay in a room in the house on your own or is it that people just can't get close to you.
