The fact is our pack out muscled you and dominated the games we played well and you can't accept it.

some wigan fans were also blaming their game against kr the week before ours, that took it out of them as they were a much better side than us.

Let's not worry about it.

I'm not that bothered whether people give us credit (although it can make sensible discussion post-match quite frustrating with many of them).

All we need to do is keep winning, and within a few weeks of doing so, we will start to progress up that table. The teams above us are very bunched now, and we should be looking to keep this form up and could easily be top 6 soon if we continue to pick up these wins.

I agree they are worried by the results we are getting. The fact we are winning ugly probably worries then too. Because it means we can grind out wins now and we don't fold like we used to. We have come from behind to win on a few occassions lately which is particularly pleasing for me.....Were in the past we would get a good lead then let it slip with shoddy defence...

The champagne rugby will come...I am happy with our progress, our defence is much improved and the players are working for one another instead of just for themselves.

Good point....I think to the neutral, Wire have always been looked upon as soft...Nice to watch, but a nightmare to support....

I think its also been acknowledged by the neutral, that if we added a little steel to our game, then we could become a serious contender.

Now that seems to have happened I reckon a few 'neutrals' (or more accurately Saints/Wigan Fans) are just a little worried....Dire might, just might, have found the missing jigsaw piece with Tony Smith...

I think the criticism of our 'new' tactics is more out of concern for Wire actually coming good, than any supposed love of our old 'we'll score more than you' attitude under previous regimes.

i'd like to think even if we do manage to just scrape into the play offs at 8 or 7( id like to think we'll get a bit higher if we keep up the form and results) we'd be the team that most others wouldn't want to draw against.

This is where the moaners would come out of the woodwork again.

People have moaned about the 8 team playoff (incluing Saints officials) but this has pretty much been brushed off by peopl stating that nobody from 8th would do anything, yet here we are in 10th, and possibly the 2nd best form team at the moment, in the semis of the Cup!

As you say, hopefully we will finish top 5 anyway and give ourselves a decent chance.

i think smith has done a good job at wire, you were never going to stay rooted down at the bottom with the quality you have in your squad, you just needed the right man to get them to perform.
im pretty sure wire will be in the shake up come september, as stevo keeps saying, why not old trafford?

Who really cares what outsiders / media have to say about us ?? Doesn't it make success all the sweeter when we make Phil Clarke and Stevo look like fools ?? Isn't it great that Barry Mac tipped Hull KR to beat us in the CC ??
