| The Reardon Saga.
Reading inbetween the lines it looks like the wire and reardon struck some kind of agreement whereby wire would assist reardon in gaining full fitness after his achilles injury and once full fitness was obtained reardon would leave for pastures new.
It now appears that it has backfired as Hull FC have discovered that Reardon has not recovered from his injury and probably wont for some time if at all - why would they release him if he was only a few weeks away.
It begs the question of why Wire had passed him fit (Lowes confirmed in his warringtonworldwide interview) yet Hull FC's medical team have turned up with a different opinion.
Are the Wire medicals not as thorough or stringent as they should be and does this explain why we have suffered from injury nightmares for the last few years ie, are players being passed fit when they actually aren't? this could go for new signings and also players on rehabilitation.
Just a few thoughts that have been going through my grey matter today.

| I think if he is injured as a contracted player we have to pay for his treatment and rehab.
It looks to me like Hull saw the backlash they were getting from their own fans.

It seems that in signing him that they were going to look bad if they kept him, but they look just as stupid by getting rid after 11 days

Interesting Panties but a lot of the above is guesswork or conjecture. I suspect we were contractually obliged to pay for his rehab and we came to an agreement with him to terminate his contract rather than dismiss him for gross misconduct. Again, conjecture on my part I suppose.

| surely a medical for a signing includes all sorts of scans and ECG's while a fitness test for a match would not be as thorough

Surely if someone has been out for a year with serious injury then the specialist/physio treating them would want to be 100% happy before allowing them to return to training/competition.
Its just all a bit odd that we passed him fit yet Hull FC have uncovered the fact that he isn't over the injury.

| Actions speak louder than words. For example, a press release stating Alan Langer has been released due to a career-ending ankle injury means nothing when he is playing State of Origin the following season.
A statement that Reardon is nearing fitness doesn't mean much when the fact is Reardon actually hadn't played for us since his injury at any level including reserves, which is maybe a fairer indication as to his medical assessment by Warrington than a stock comment from Lowes in the middle of the court hearings when Warrington were keeping comments to a minimum as they awaited the outcome of his trial.
Whatever words might have been said, we released him without him playing a game this season, and so to criticise the club for passing him fit is ridiculous.
Maybe the real question you should ask is why Hull announced a signing, with all the related bad press that they knew it would bring without even giving him a medical, and in fact apparently waited 11 days (until the day before he was due to be sentenced) to do so?

| if he hasn't played since may last year, and by my reckoning, thats approaching a year, would we not have been in a similar situation to the one bradford found themselves in with tame tupou, so could we have not gotten rid that way?
