Why dont the reserves / academy play before the first team on a match day like say for example they do at Quins?
I for one would like to watch the team as a build up to the match itself. Not only does it give me / others that opportunity, but it also gets the reserves used to playing to a growing crowd and gives us a chance to show them some support (before the boo boys arrive)..
[iI know they play on a Saturday at the moment at Wilderspool, but to be honest my Saturdays are spent trawling around after the missus in shops, or watching the footy.[/i

Why dont we have the kids matches playing at HT anymore? Its good fun watching the mini games.
I think the pitch has been an issue in the early years of the HJ and certainly last year there were big problems with it. However it seems to be much better this year, despite a bad winter, so hopefully the academy/reserves can return to playing curtain raisers soon. I know the coaches and players are keen for it to happen.
Currently the following are planned:
Academy:
v Salford City Reds, Sunday 26th July at The Halliwell Jones Stadium 12.30pm
and
Reserves:
v Wakefield Trinity Wildcats Sunday 23rd August The Halliwell Jones Stadium 12.30pm
