I was reading the "Why buy new players thread" and a few of you talked highly on Rhys Williams, i remember speaking to some of you on here around the time of his Wales debut last season, back then some comments werent in favour of the lads.

Has he been having a good season for you this year, i will go and watch him when your reserves play us at home down here.

Also do you reckon he will retain his Wales place this season; regarding we could be going into our internationals with Duggan, Luke Dyer, Ant Blackwood, Bryn Powell, Dave Halley, Mark Lennon etc etc. If any of you have the knowledge of Super League's outside backs.

Having seen 3 and a half out of the 5 games our reserves have played (and remain un-beaten) I would have Rhys down as potentially our best performer in the reserves this season (McCarthy was given player of the month for March but that must have been a close call).

From his performances in the reserves I would have put him in front of Penny for a call up last week but I'm sure things like whether a player is in the full time training squad or not affect these decisions.

I would hope that Rhys can make the step up to the first team squad but it is never easy to tell from performances at reserve and academy level but it looks like Rhys has a decent chance. If we were to release him I would hope Celtic Crusaders would be in like a shot for him.

Potentially in two or three years Warrington could have two or three Welsh internationals in our first team. Hopefully Rhys Evans will be playing for our Academy on Saturday and I'm looking forward to see him play.
