| Just a bit of fun, as all this transfer gossip is getting a bit tedious...
What if the unthinkable had happened back in 2002, and we had been relegated??....
What would have happened to the club??
Would Cullen have still got the 6 years he did??
Would we have done a Halifax, or a Huddersfield??
Where would certain Wire stalwarts have ended up (Briers, Westwood, Nat Wood, etc)??
Would we have got to see some of the 'big-names' we have since (Johns, Fa'filli, Morley, etc)
How would have attendances been affected, and the club's image with the Warrington public as a whole??
It's all hypothetical, but I thought it might be interesting to contemplate what could have happened, and you never know, it might make you forget about our new centre for a while... ![Wink icon_wink.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_wink.gif)

| We'd be in exactly the same position as we are now, although with slightly less promise for the future, Cullen in charge, Mark Gleeson as one of our better players and Toa Kohe Love as our best.

| I am pretty sure I would still be a wire fan. I only started supporting them in 99/2000 because i saw highlights of the 19 all game against wigan, and something deep inside me told me to hate wigan.
Still, it is hardly like it has been a laugh a minute since.
Although witnessing the leeds playoff victory was unbelievable

So you basically think we'd have drifted along on a tide of mediocrity for the last 7 years??....I must say, I have to doubt we'd be in Super League if your view that about Kohe-Love & Gleeson was true!!
Personally, I think a lot would have been decided by how the club marketed itself whilst in the lower division....Remember, our last year at Wilderspool would have been in the lower league...Would the enthusiasm for the new ground have been so high??
I suppose a lot would have depended on how far SJM decided his love for the club stretched.
We would certainly have had avastly different playing squad...Briers would likely be a Widnes legend by now, and Westwood would have made his way to Leeds, via Wakefield & Cas... ![Wink icon_wink.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_wink.gif)

Mine was based on the assumption we'd have gone bust and had to reform a bit lower down.

Possibly, maybe reformed the club under a different company. I think relegation would have meant certain bankruptcy back then.

Well if the club had been reformed under a different company, then they would either purchase Wilderspool, or even the HJ for the newly reformed team. I can't remember what the lower league format was back then, but based on the current one, we'd have had to start in Championship 1

| We'd be in a similar boat to Widnes, Leigh, Halifax, Oldham, etc IMO.
Which is why it grates a bit with me when some of our 'fans' on here have a pop at such clubs.
Apart from Widnes, obviously ![Wink icon_wink.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_wink.gif)

| We'd probably have come back up in 2003 and had our big return to Super League coinciding with the opening of the new stadium and a few new signings.
Probably wouldn't have made too much difference overall to where we are now, apart from Briers, Clarke or Westwood may have joined other SL clubs in 2003.
