I know the Gleeson rumour pops up on almost every thread but what are peoples views on us getting him? 3 years ago we would have been very giddy at signing him but seems to have gone backwards at Wigan, I know alot of Wigan fans will say he's crap and rightly so as they are the best people to jude at this point in time, I'm sure it's going to end up being a good signing. Tony Smith was able to get the best out of him at Leeds and Wigan seemed to use him a different way.

Don't sign him, he's complete and utter =redswear filter is there for a reason, don't try to bypass it, on the other hand with a bit of work I think Goulding could be a decent player.

Absolutely awful, though a club change could do him good. Nah, probably not. He's gash.

All i can say is, if the "rumoured deal" goes through, the Pies must be laughing their =redswear filter off!!!!
Goulding "could" be a good player, but this is by no-means assured and he is not a proven or a current first choice international. (Also not convinced he would want to "willingly" come and play for Warrington).

Injury prone Donkey, (haven`t we already got one of those at fullback), that Wigan are desperate to get rid of.
Now if Gleese wants to go, or T.S wants rid, then thats fine, but to let him go to one of your biggest rivals??? There would have to be an awful lot of $$$$$ also involved for me to even consider this deal, i would rather tout him to Auss clubs and let him go for nothing.
After all, could you imagine how much it would cost the club, if Gleese scored the winning try for Wigan against Warrington, in a Cup semi-final, or even worse, in a final???

My thoughts, it will happen, its just the type of "numb-skull" deal our club would agree to.

Remember the unbridled joy at the capture of Matt King??...Or the ecstasy at the signing of Monaghan??....Or how Rauhihi was going to lord it over every prop in Super League??....The list is pretty endless, we sign a guy then get a stiffy over them, only to realise a few months in that they ain't so superhuman after all....Perhaps its time we started to slate our new signings before we get to see them in the Wire colours, and then it will avoid disappointment when they turn out to be pretty average??...



IF Mathers joins, I reckon we all just give the guy a chance, and to actually judge him a bit further down the line...

I think the same is true of Mathers...hes a full back and we clearly dont have one.....

Where would he play?? Would you put him at fb and move Hicks back to the wing? And what when Reardon comes back (whenever that is). I think we'll have more options, but that aside, am i the only one who wants Gleeson to stay?

Personally, I always rated him at Leeds...obviously things went sour for him down under, and at the moment his career seems to have stalled, along with a few others, over at Wigan.

It's possible a move may re-ignite his career, and having worked together before, its highly likely Tony Smith might be the man to get him going again.

an average full back is better than no fullback and gleeson leaving anyway.

hicks is a winger, riley would at the very least need cover and reardon well lets just say i hope he never puts a wire shirt on ever again

How long since he left Leeds? 5 years? That's a fair while without playing any of the skills you picked up as a youngster and then under Tony Smith.

I'd have the Leeds version of Mathers, but not the Titans or Wigan version and I'm not sure TS could turn him round this side of 2010, meaning Rley and Hicks would be better options at full back

3 or 4 depending on your view of it.
