Recently ive heard this guys name mentioned by a few posters on here.

From what has been said I believe that he is some kind of conditioner or personal trainer.

Can anyone tell me exactly who this guy is, where he comes from, whether he has worked with the wolves/wire before and what he is doing now?

Phil Chadwick used to work on the bins as well, maybe he still has a few contacts that could put in a good word for Matt King as Matt has a talent thats being wasted in rugby league.

sure he was the fitness coach..led by example being ultra fit himself...worked for council...get him back to sort this lazy bunch out

He was a conditioner with the club for a long time, worked as a bin man for Warrington council and was a legendary character with the players. There are some stories about him in Mike Gregorys book.

He used to do early morning training sessions when the players were part time and he had found a spot of land which he used to take training, he heard that somebody had it earmarked for a building project so he started collecting newts from nearby ponds to put on his land because if newts started breeding on his bit of land then nobody could build on it because they were a protected species.

Then when Warrington played Cronulla Sharks in the World Club Championship in 1997, Chadders rubbed grease all over the ball they used for kick off, so when they booted it to Andrew Ettingshausen it slipped out of his hands and we got the scrum in an attacking position.

He looks a bit like Steve Coogan's character Paul Calf and is obviously a bit of a joker who was popular with the players but Scully pointed out in his book that he was also incredibly fit and none of the players could beat him at pull ups or dips.

Still an exceptionaly fit 64 year old

I am sure its the same guy who i used to train with at Lockers football team. If so he used to go on the warm up run prior to training with a ruck sack of sand on his back and still beat everyone back!!!!

Get him back. He was a great trainer back in the day. This shower need some discipline. They are extracting the proverbial out of the fans at the moment.

Don't think he uses o'malleys anymore, trains at a private gym behind speedkarting.

Ahh right, I used to have a mate whose dad used to train quite a lot with him. Not spoken to him for a few years, though

he was the star of "Grimebusters" as the main man working for the council helping keep the streets of Warrington clean

He probably used to train there during the Mike Greg era, as a few of the players would use O'Malley's for early morning sessions before work.

Looked like Steve Prefontaine.

Used to run on the pitch like a little whippet on the rare occasion anyone was injured, a quick slap of a wet sponge to the gonads brought them round in double quick time

Chaddy used to do fitness training with latchford albion too was always telling us he wire stories lol.


he a top guy and knws his stuff he would run rings round the whole team and im sure he would make us fitter than any team in the super league.


he would take a few of the smart ares down a peg or too

I remember some pretty poor Wire teams when he was involved. Why didn't he have them fitter than the other teams then?
