| Same as before, what do we expect from our leader? Improvement defensively would be a huge plus for me, not dashing out of the line etc.

| To be honest he has never been able to defend well and I can't see that changing at 30.
What we need from him is to strike up the partnership with Monaghan that we all expected last year.
I think he didn't get on the ball enough last year and I would like to see him dictating the play like he used to. I appreciate that Monaghan was bought to take the load of Briers but I think that Briers has been carrying the fort for so long that he does not know any other way than to do it by himself.

| Like to see him towards the end of the year take a backward step and give the opportunity to someone else as Warrington's Stand off for the future.
This is of course, if there is someone to replace him. For which there should be. There are a few faults coming through with his game that has been exposed with time and it will be good to shake off the image that we can't win without him.
Some people seem to think we didn't actually win anything before he came.

| I think he'll have a big year. I want him to earn himself a new contract and produce form like Long has at Saints. A couple of years back his form was questioned, he took time out from internationals and took on a slightly different role in the team and has had a new lease of life. I want Lee to do the same.
For all the stepping aside talk, doubting this & that about him, he's still the one player that I want to have the ball in his hands when we're attacking the line as I don't think we have anybody anywhere near as dangerous nor anybody who has the craft & guile that he has.

We should have 17 leaders not just 1 or 2.
As for Briers, I expect an improvement with the goal kicking and give Hicks some competition. Always need 2 or 3 good goal kickers if you are going to compete, we haven't had a decent goal kicker since???

| I dont think his body can cope with another season after 2009 after what it has been through over the years. Lets hope he can give it one last shot.

Nevermind the sex, drugs and rock and roll lifestyle, on top of all that he has been playing since he was 17 in the Saints first team. If you look at the players from his era like Harris, Scully etc they kept their bodies in better nick than Briers and were knackered and burned out by 30. The same is happening now to Lee. I think this year will be his last in Super League before he steps down to NL1.

You are on here with "benefit of the doubt" carry on with allegations like this and you will be gone.

| Lee Briers for me is great on his day but he is very inconsistent and he has gone hiding in the past when we have been up against it, when he puts it all together then he is great to watch and has a top kicking game but when in sulk mode he can be a liability especially in defence. He gets quite a few niggling injuries as well which won`t ease up at the age he is at.

| I thought we used him well in the last game against Saints when he came off after about 20 odd minutes and we brought on an "extra defender" i think it was Grix. I am not convinced that this was a forced interchange through injury but I am usually wrong. To me this was usually around the time we normally conceed 2/3 quick tries and if it was a tactical change it was refreshing.
Sides like Saints have an ability to target our weak points (See Andy Bracek)and if we can counter this then great. I do feel that we need to start thinking about his replacement despite how good he has been. He can't go on forever. I have enjoyed watching him play and some of the off the cuff stuff he does is brilliant like dribbling the ball 10 yards from a drop out/ kick off.
If we can find an in play kicker that is better from within the current squad then that would be great. If he can produce the sort of performances that would give us no option but to extend his contract i would be happy. There is something inside that tells me he (Not deliberate) can be a negative influence on the team as a whole sometimes but that is pure guess work on my behalf.
Similar to Penny, Pick the right games for him to play in whilst giving his understudy (Whoever that may be) some opportunites to shine. I think Lee is also a confidence player.
If the number of injuries that our squad piks up reduces there is no reason why we can't pick different players to play against different oppositions / conditions.
Good luck to him.

| I don't doubt his commitment but he has been a consistent factor in the inconsistency and failure of the team to deliver since 1997.
