| that was the game where we thought our crap ball handling, one out style of rugby and all round looking like we couldn't beat a NL team was down to the conditions
fast forward about 1 month and we knew it wasn't

| That was the game where within 5 minutes all players looked exactly the same covered from head to toe in mud!
It was really funny when we made a substitution and there was one bright yellow shirt on the pitch - the only player we could recognise as ours ........ for all of another 5 minutes!
COME ON YOU WIRE!!!!!!!! ............ Bring on Salford ..........

| Highlight of that match was being given a Nutri-Grain bar every ten minutes outside the ground. Being 11 or 12 at the time, it was more exciting than the match.

| The clubhouse had £1 a pint on before the game. It was a cracking day in WA4 then turned crap half way up, foolish people went without a coat!

| I have never seen sideways rain like it that day. I got soaked head to foot and the game was poor (but it's one of those games that will always be remembered)

| I remember also going to the old Central Park when we played them in a Cup Match (think it was a final but not sure)
They had an animal of a player called Szasmala (or something along those lines); aparently Polish / Russian desendant, covered in tatoo's and muscle bound
I remember he flattened some Wire player and got clean away with it

| Was Barrow the debut for Burns and Domic?
Anyroad, I went with Len. On arrival at Barrow, we went into one pub - no food. As it was chucking it down, we couldn't be bothered looking for another so went to the bowling place across the road. Len fancied bangers and mash, but was told "We've got no potatoes, but you can have chips"
On the entry to the ground, Len was trying to get in as an OAP (he is one) but he had to try four turnstiles before he was allowed in. Not a happy man.

If I remember correctly, Domic almost got hypothermia. So did we, that was one of the most awful days I have experienced for watching rugby.

| my strongest memory's of the trip to barrow were almost putting a coach window through with a ball whilst trying to kick it with a broken toe,
My mate ste turning up in a denim jacket and wire shirt then drinking cans of cider for the rest of the game to try and blank out the cold.
And two gentlemen stood near us urinating into beer glasses to start off and lobbing them through the window/hole at the back of the stand,
