| Coops gave 100% to the cause and he always give everything match wise.
Coops did not get on board with Powells philosophy and his way of working. And thought it was a load of horse crap.
So yes. He give 100% to the cause. But if he wasn't on board with Powell and his way of working. Then what else is he going to do than go rogue and just showcase what you can do whilst shopping around to other clubs. It's worked. He has showcased what he can do. Given 100% effort whilst not working within the structure Powell wanted.
As for Powells first video on YouTube. Where he gave the speech where at the end, he asked who was on board to stand up. He was not even aware the video existed and did not know about this meeting as he was still on holiday due to his late return for international duty.

Yeah cause Wigan have never signed any bad apples before, have they?

As far as I can see and have heard it’s not necessarily he is a bad apple.
Wane and Briers will know him very well and will be comfortable with his attitude.
I’ve heard by several sources that Cooper has become “toxic” in the Wire environment. He’s never been regarded as that prior to this season so what’s changed?
Cooper had a big influence over the playing squad as a senior player, Powell decided that the best way to deal with that was to try out him in his place similar to the Alex Furguson/Paul Ince situation, from that point on it was never going to be a comfortable relationship.
Moving forward it seems now the best scenario for both parties is a parting of ways.

| He's been a good solid player, but I seem to recall many posts from the last few years about how it was Hill carrying the pack rather than Cooper sharing the load.
He's been a constant workhorse, but for me never really sparked the excitement too much - so he might be missed in the short term, but not irreplaceable.

| So if rumours are to be believed the charge sheet against Cooper (and possibly Hill) is that they didnt quite go the extra mile off the pitch because they had businesses to run. We dont know what the "Extras" entailed. It could be doing interviews, promotional stuff, going to schools or community clubs. Or just sitting down with the coaching team to see where everybody can improve and build a relationship between players and coaches.
Now we all know that there was rarely a lack of effort on the pitch.
It has been clear since Morley and Monaghan left that there has been a lack of leadership. Hill and Cooper were senior players but I would guess that other successful leaders at Saints, Leeds and Wigan would not have said sorry, I have a meeting with the accountant this afternoon. I get that they need an income after their playing career ends and good on Cooper for building a successful business. Maybe there is no bad egg/ apple about it and now we just needed a bit extra from our senior players to set an example to the junior players.
I did find it strange a couple of months ago when Danny Walker did an interview with the MEN after some poor defeats. I did wonder why players like Cooper were not facing that music and taking the heat off some of the other squad players. If I was a young player I would much prefer to read an interview with a senior player stating that we all need to pull together and work hard rather than me being volunteered to do the interview especially during a poor run of form.
I know clubs encourage players to set themselves up for when their playing days are over. I suppose as a club we have allowed this situation to develop over a number of years.
So good luck to Mike at Wigan. I am sure he will give his all for them and it maybe will also open a few doors for his business in Wigan.

| Seems like a bit of 6 of one and half a dozen of another with Powell and Cooper.
Shame that Cooper wasn't prepared to go the extra mile for the club if true.
Interesting observation about the Walker interview - seems like Cooper didn't want the 'full English' with the club, just a regular breakfast and this wasn't enough for Powell. And fair enough too, you need your top experienced players setting an example and helping to establish a culture.

| Seemed inevitable, I guess time will tell whether the board were correct to back the coach with the severity and depth of these changes.
Dufty or Vaughan incoming? Bulldogs 10 points of the pace for the top 8 with 8 games to go I think, I'm sure they would be fine with Dufty leaving as he hasn't featured for a long time, Vaughan seems to be playing every week still...

| Nobody knows exactly whats gone on except Cooper, Powell and the people immediately involved. It's gone wrong this year and for whatever reason he's now moved on.
All the best to Coops he's been brilliant and consistant for us for a very long time. He's a warrington lad through and through and i'll remember him in the same vein as Briers and Morley, quality player who we were much better for having them in the team.

Dufty we're definately in with a chance but not Vaughan, will be interesting to see if we do bring him over but at this stage of the season it's proberbly too late to have a big impact, unless he does a Barba and kills it from the minute he hits the field.

| Seriously, hats off to whoever is responsible for our salary cap calculations this season, with all these comings and goings. The maths must be enough to make their head hurt!
