That will have no impact on the value of his next NRL deal as he turned us down on location, not money.'"
I'm sorry that he and his agent had to waste their time negotiating with us then? What a silly mistake for them to make!

| I must admit to feeling a little flat with this news. I hope we just don't repeat the pattern (Price) of getting an untried or untested 2nd/3rd/4th choice Aussie coach.
Maybe offer Wane a stellar deal. Get the monkey off our back.
If that's not an option - hold tight until an opportunity presents itself.

Maguire, Holbrook and Woolf were all untried and untested.

| Price is getting big raps down under. I liked him for what he achieved with a poor-quality squad in 2018, but fell out of love from 2019 onwards when we'd invested heavily in big names.
Maybe he wasn't actually the problem from 2019 onwards, he just needed a squad that didn't think they'd hit the big time on big money deals at the so-called 'glamour' club. I bet Price would have done far better at Saints, Wigan or Leeds. Especially Wigan.

True, but all joined clubs that had won a Grand Final previously.
I just hope the "thorough process" doesn't yield a Price MkII

I watch all the nrl games and shows on fox and I can't honestly remember Price's name even being mentioned(especially in positive terms!). It even looks like cronulla will drop out of the top 8. Brisbane on the other hand are looking like potential winners and their assistant is getting some good reviews

I like it, we use the gorilla to get rid of the monkey. Gorillas are far more powerful than any monkeys, should work.
I'd still like wane until the end of the season then moving to a director of rugby role. I really doubt he would go that way against Wigan though. Holbrook would have been fantastic, however I want the coach who makes his name with us, I don't want a busted flush just because he won superleague a couple of times 10 years ago. Couldn't care less about the trophy cv, I care about the guy who is hungry for success and wants to build his cv as much as we want a rugby team to be proud of kiem we did under Smith for a good few years.

| To say I'm gutted is an understament. I would rarther have someone who's been there seen it and done it at the highest level and has a big reputation, who know how to handle prima-dona's. The thought of us taking on an English coach who's won nothing (again)........but hay, can get the best out of average players, how depressing.

Please God don't let it happen.
It's almost like an episode of Steptoe and Son.
Harold can see "the promised land" i.e. a world without Albert, and a [i smashing but of crumpet[/i, but Albert fakes another illness, so Harold stays.
He's almost there, and it all fades away.
We get rid of a crap coach, think there's light at the end of the tunnel with a coach that's actually won something. He[iblows you out[/i, and you end up taking a punt on someone who once finished second.
