I suspect (like you) that nobody on here knows absolutely anything at all about the “goings on” behind the scenes.

| Still nobody has an answer as to why a club like Wigan and all the commitment and professionalism they demand would entertain Cooper and his apparent half hearted care for the cause if it was at all true. If he was such a bad apple, and unreasonable, Wigan wouldn't have him.

The same reason that clubs sign Zak Hardaker - because they think they can get him to change his bad habits?

No. That was Lam. Who was an idiot. I sincerelt doubt Peet would tolerate it now he's in charge. You think they wouldn't have discussed any potential hinderance with Cooper that he could be bringing? Zak will have made well intentioned promises but the call of bell endidness is too strong for him. Hardaker and Cooper are not the same.

I agree they're not, but that's not point I was making.
Put simply, just because a player is seen as a bad apple doesn't automatically mean that no other club will take a risk on them - haven't we had several players over the years who could be perceived as so and yet still signed them with differing results ( Les Boyd and Chris Sandow being 2 that spring to mind)?

Behavior is one thing though. But Coopers issue apparently is to do with not being committed enough because of his side business. How would that change by moving to a different club who are arguably much more expectant of sticking to the rules and no special treatment?

| Coops gave 100% to the cause and he always give everything match wise.
Coops did not get on board with Powells philosophy and his way of working. And thought it was a load of horse crap.
So yes. He give 100% to the cause. But if he wasn't on board with Powell and his way of working. Then what else is he going to do than go rogue and just showcase what you can do whilst shopping around to other clubs. It's worked. He has showcased what he can do. Given 100% effort whilst not working within the structure Powell wanted.
As for Powells first video on YouTube. Where he gave the speech where at the end, he asked who was on board to stand up. He was not even aware the video existed and did not know about this meeting as he was still on holiday due to his late return for international duty.

As far as I can see and have heard it’s not necessarily he is a bad apple.
Wane and Briers will know him very well and will be comfortable with his attitude.
I’ve heard by several sources that Cooper has become “toxic” in the Wire environment. He’s never been regarded as that prior to this season so what’s changed?
Cooper had a big influence over the playing squad as a senior player, Powell decided that the best way to deal with that was to try out him in his place similar to the Alex Furguson/Paul Ince situation, from that point on it was never going to be a comfortable relationship.
Moving forward it seems now the best scenario for both parties is a parting of ways.

| He's been a good solid player, but I seem to recall many posts from the last few years about how it was Hill carrying the pack rather than Cooper sharing the load.
He's been a constant workhorse, but for me never really sparked the excitement too much - so he might be missed in the short term, but not irreplaceable.
