We're not? We only offered 5k less than Leeds (unlike Coote/ Fages where our offers were doubled+) but he wanted to play for his home town team, so rejected Saints offer. Hes a very good player, but not without his flaws (in particular his attacking game). Hes not the Saints player to throw the budget out for though, and wish him the best at Leeds, whilst thankful the club didnt spend overs convincing him to stay.
No one seems to know whose replacing him though which is always the big question (and before anyone says it, Hurrell will replace Thompson rather than Bentley  ) |

Bentley's agent put the £5k figure and an explanation of Bentley's situation out in an interview I believe. Note sure where the other revelations came from. The only way I can see Hull KR doubling Coote's offer is by giving him two years rather than one possibly. The Fages to Huddersfield deal has been rumoured for about six months now, but oddly hasn't been confirmed by them or the player yet. |
