Can this be described as 'must win' yet? I think every game is, now.
Yes. We need to win this, and if we can get a bit of a bounce and get some points off Hull top 6 pretty much ours position to lose.

Leeds may be too far ahead, Leigh have Catalan this week and then go to Leigh so could break away that top four or drop back into the middle block. But it’s all about us. The teams around us play each other, and we play them too. We can beat Huddersfield, aim up against Hull and we can get them, then two banana skins in Salford and Catalan. 6 points out of 8 gets you in the driving seat. 8 points out of 8 and we’re pretty comfortable.

Yes we may make an away play off game to make up the numbers, but only the most ardent supporter would think we are seriously challenging for a GF win.

Theres no doubt we can compete in big games, it’s about how we arrive there and whether we can be in a better position to back up after a big game. By play offs, we should have Dufty and Walker back, having had Williams have a substantial rest mid season. Our best players could arrive fit and healthy at the important bit. The potential third game, a grand final, is a side pot. Form, table position and energy level go out of the window. It’s two back to back that is the issue. We haven’t proved that we can do that, but there is strong evidence that we can beat teams in one off events. The next 5 weeks are vital. We need to pick up the points from Huddersfield, (ideally) Hull, Salford, Catalan and Cas. 8 points minimum, from there it’s a different outlook.

Blimey, if we're now calling Salford a banana skin, we really are at a low point.

| Unfortunately, the Mighty Wire have a history of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Surely, there is an attacking formation & plan that can be concocted by our brains trust of coaches & senior players that can put points on the scoreboard & take the momentum away from our upcoming opponents.

Blimey, if we're now calling Salford a banana skin, we really are at a low point. They will come for us more than anyone. We have taken Sneyd and now Stone, and Bullock and Russell will have a lot to prove. I’d be concerned if we got beat, but if we just put the kids out it would be a naive decision. The result is almost a foregone conclusion, but they will hunt us. The point I was trying to make was that the world have those marked as Warrington wins, but they still need winning.

Bar a few cup games we have been bloody awful this season. Defence is poor and we look at times like we would never score even when we had Walker, Williams and Ashton. We fell short last year when we were playing well and in form. Team is markedly weaker this year. But I tip my hat to your optimism.

Snip Why couldn't we? Bar a few cup games we have been bloody awful this season. Defence is poor and we look at times like we would never score even when we had Walker, Williams and Ashton. We fell short last year when we were playing well and in form. Team is markedly weaker this year. But I tip my hat to your optimism. We’ve been awful (at times), playing with half of our salary cap in the stand, but still made a cup final and was a fingertip from beating the best team in the league. We’re still more than capable of cruising into the 6 and having a shot at the stumps. What have we got to lose? If it’s time to cut the teams that aren’t playing well, let’s just have a top 3 and we can build for next year. We’re literally half way through the year, we’ve beaten tough opponents in big games, and lost to Wigan and Hull KR by a whisker at big events. We have 7 of our remaining 13 games against the bottom 4, only having played 3 of them 10 fixture against them. The only games that stick in my throat are Vegas and the two Wakefield games. The Widnes one if I’m being picky. The rest are fair game, we beat Leeds and Leigh, they get one back on us, so what. If anyone can remember where Leeds were at round 14 in 2011 let me know, or where Salford were in June 2019. Nobody knows, nobody cares. We can doom monger and kick stones all we want, but this season is far from over.
