| Mr Smith is not only a great coach but more importantly he's a very decent bloke and for that I hope we keep onto him for as much as possible !
His influence will last for years after he's gone. Last night was evidence of that!

All through life you learn leassons, he left Leeds too soon, this guy does nt make the same mistake twice!

| I think Smith will want to win a GF with Warrington before he goes.

| I found his comments about the fact Warrington have not been involved in many tight games this season quite intriguing. Wire have been in 4 'tight' games this season, and have lost 3 of them.

But he left a squad that isn't that unrecognisable to now at Leeds. Leeds' main/core players were there then and are still there now. If Smith leaves Wire now - within two years Hodgson Briers Morley Carvell and the Monaghans will all be retiring - he wouldn't be leaving a settled squad set-up for future success (after TS left Leeds have reached a final in every year, whether it be the GF or CC!).
I think he has a big job to do at Wire over the next three years. It will be a time where we will see if we'll sustain a 'top club' status or dip down the table. I'm also certain he will want to win a GF with Wire before moving on.
I also think TS left Leeds two/three years too soon.

| All of those were won by at least 7 points, except HKR, which was the one I counted as 'tight'

Salford (H) - awful performance throughout the game (L)
Catalans (H) - see above (L)
Leeds (play -off) - under-par performance (L)
Hull KR (H) - decimated by injury from the previous week, played the full 80 (W)
We were outplayed in one game this season - Hudds away.
Back on topic, Smith summed the game up perfectly.

| I do kinda worry that TS won't be sticking around for years to come. Although I pray that I am wrong.

You sure about that, with not making mistakes twice?
I posted it on the other thread. Smith said on Friday night that some of his players were busted, and maybe should not have played in the game. Said they needed last week off.
In Keith Seniors Autobiography, he alludes that he was was put under tremendous pressure by Smith to say he was ok for the Challenge Cup final in 2005, when the medicacl staff said no, and every man and his dog knew he would not last.
I think Smith made the same mistake on Friday, and it cost you the game because of it. Your players had nothing left in them after the great season they had put in, and perhaps not playing those "busted" players may well have seen you take the spoils.

| I think Smith knew, like we all knew that we were done as soon as The Monaghan's didn't get 'that' table.

So we weren't outplayed in those games, despite playing awfully, and losing?

Warrington on friday night, reminded me of leeds in the qualifying semi when they played bradford and lostin 2004.
They were almost trying too hard to score in certain situations and threw stupid passes. This certainly let leeds back into the game, prime example being just after half time and halls intercept.
Maybe smith forgot this lesson from 7 years ago?

Not forced a pass to the wing, and not played touch rugby for two of their tries. would have helped imo.
