solomona wasn't a superstar they signed, he was a low key player they picked up along with mcmeeken when london got relegated, when they signed him he was so so, it was playing in powell's system that made him a big name.

| The Cas left edge was untouchable. But though they were still good when Solomona left for a while they have not been able to produce that quality with the lesser players that they have now. Solomona was hot whilst at London and definitely not "so so".

Isn't a forum for speculation and tittle tattle though? We are all trying to pass the time and chat and try to understand why we have a bottom 3 pack but top 3 finances and top 1 aspirations. Why we have been a financially well backed club for 16 years, signing superstars and marquee players with a squad with "unbelievable talent" and yet still not won a Grand Final during a time when all our rivals have won 3+ each.
I hope the club do have a laugh at the posts, they have very little to laugh about elsewhere.

You don't think Greg Eden is quality then?

after dorn left, and hardaker imploded in 2017 is when it started spluttering, i've mentioned this before, they've had a revolving door at fb trying to replace dorn after hardaker tested positive, go have a look how many players they've tried to use at fb since then

| Currie really isn't the problem, he hasn't been great but he hasn't had a lot to work with. Philbin was better today but still not great.
I think on reflection our biggest problem is that we don't win the ruck in either attack or defence, the workrate off the ball in attack isn't good enough. The decision making and organisation though is absolutely awful, we have 2 marquee halves and neither of them are organising their team mates to setup attacks. Widdop needs to be dropped at least Williams creates a little and seems interested, give him full responsibility, let Riley Dean have a go. Stop playing Jack Hughes.

Agreed with those. If none of these improve by the end of the year..
Hughes - nothing more to be said.
Philbin has been in decline for a couple of seasons. We should just cut our losses if no improvement.
Currie not as bad but hasn't been the same since serious injury. Another who we maybe think is world class but maybe isn't?
Widdop - one good season. Mega bucks. Time to go.
Ratchford - coming to the end. Time to retire at Salford (or Leigh)
Davis - lots of effort but not big or good enough.

Currie has been dreadful this year. Lets not kid ourselves. He's never been the same since his serious injury.
He's another 'golden child' of ours similar to King. We think they're world class but they're not, sadly.

| I will add that people have a pop at our pack but it’s inferred that out front row is the problem. Whilst far from perfect our front row options on the whole are trying….but where we are really lacking is the back 3 of the pack. Holmes - bang average so far, currie - utterly dreadful and loose forward is an afterthought. Hopefully magoulias can fix the latter but only Powell can fix the second row issue.

| Wakefield were good and NO Warrington fan took them lightly, most sensible ones even foresaw the loss. Wakefield have a mid-table squad and have always been capable of turning over any side. To me they are a litmus test of a teams ambitions in the season…beat Wakefield away and you’re onto something good, ship 38 points at home to Wakefield with some truly abject defending then be assured that the season will be a long one

There's something in that.
Wakey won't win the league, but they always have some kind of say in who does (or, without doubt, make the play-offs).

Come on, we are going to be looking inwards win, lose or draw.
FWIW I don't know how our recruitment team missed lino and fifita, both walk in to and improve our first 13 and for considerably less cash on the cap than say Widdop and Philbin. KFP Out.
Wakey are a good team and don't have the points deserved from this season so far. That said you let a poor wire side be in the game at half time through poor discipline, our first 3 tries came after needless penalties.

That attempt to stop the halfback scoring a barge over was embarrassing.
I've got the feeling that the likes of Currie, King and Philbin think they are a lot better than they actually are. All of them are included in the side based on performances from 1 year+ ago.
If Powell wants to change attitudes he needs to drop a number of players and give them a kick up the backside.

| It feels like the hierarchy at Wire love to flex their muscles and get a buzz from signings like Widdop and Williams but if you’re pumping so much of your cap space in to two halfbacks, you better make sure there’s enough left to put a decent pack in front of them.
It’s incredible to think how poorly managed teams like Wire, Wigan and Leeds have been this past few seasons. Saints are sat laughing themselves silly at the top of the tree, claiming they’ll go down as the best superleague side in history when the facts are they’re beating nothing teams. The whole league needs to wake up really.
