I couldn't care less about Ozz football...It's all biff bash wallop and if we never played them again it would be too soon for me. I'm more concerned about the entertainment value of the game in this country which sadly, the more silky skills of the game are disappearing fast.
Kevin Penny is a case in point...he's not built like a brick outhouse so naturally is useless.

Try rlhttps://www.nrl.aussiesport.tv/page/Latestrl 99p for 4 day trial, or £5 a month. Gameday day highlights and then the whole game the day after, stored on there for whenever you want to watch it so you can watch any game anytime. Thats all i do, then hook up my laptop to my TV, sorted.

I'm on about the NRL, not the A-League and its certainly not as you suggest there is far more skill shown by the players than in Super League. It is by some distance the best rugby competition in the world of any code.
Agree with you about the lack of skills over here though, especially amongst the backs although the likes of Eastmond and Tomkins could be two of the best we've produced for a long time.
I also hear what you're saying with Penny, coaches seem to favour wingers that are 6 foot tall and can make yards on the first couple of tackles. For genuine speed merchants again see the NRL with the likes of Jennings, Morris twins, Yow Yeh etc. |
