If they play like that every match for the rest of the season I will have no complaints. Good effort by the boys today.

A massive improvement since we got beat by Hull KR. We have better to come, the halves arent firing really, why our marquee half Widdop isnt kicking on the last is baffling to be honest and those last tackle kicks are my only gripe with today. Commitment and work rate across the board was so, so much better.

Credit to thewlis who improves every time I see him, he's going to be excellent IMO and should be starting FB next season. Darryl's best game for such a long time, the front row matched up really well, currie and Ashton were good too. I liked Mata'utia getting in to Wynne after he hit thewlis in the air, showed me he was willing to front up today and he did, don't get me wrong he offered nothing special really but up for the fight and no mistakes.

I think if we had even referee calls today we would have won it. Kendall made mistakes both ways but way more against us than for us. He's an unbelievably appalling ref.

Gutted with the result but much happier with the effort. Daryl looked much better tonight, Thewlis the real deal. King gets some stick on here but he has caused havoc for his opposite number in both games this weekend.

Agreed, he looks to test the opposition all the time and that's what makes things happen for any team. He's a quality player.

We really did play well, despite poor call after poor call the whole team never felt sorry for themselves or lost focus and that's what I'm most happy about in that performance. We went behind and didn't buckle either. Some great signs of resilience in there. As I said earlier if they play like that every week I really can't ask for more as a fan.

I'm not on board the "all is well" train unfortunately..that was a knackered and pretty poor Hull team. We offered nothing in go forward in that second half and the last play choices were questionable. Improved? Yes. Much improved? Nah, far to go

We were better than we have been i thought, which isnt hard....but still a way off for me. Hull werent great despite the Sky love in.....
Our last tackle options were poor...but saying that we did well considering Kendalls performance. Id say, Rachford not slotting the 1 before half time was poor, but again, we showed some great skill to score 10 mins from time. That last try decision was pathetic.
Hopefully we kick on from here, at least the effort was there. We have a long way to go. I have faith that Powell will get it right with time. Just hoping the board afford him the time to do it....

I know there are issues in camp, and the players involved with it, but i fully expect Powell to get it sorted.

All il say is, im lead to believe there are a group of players not buying into his methods the way he wants to work...all part of the culture change he wants to instill. Very much a work in progress by all accounts.

The recent pathetic performances don't happen with a good group. Our youngsters showed that the other year against Salford.

No probably about it. He makes 9.3m average gain, 2nd only to Conor Wrench.

Philbin makes a poor 6.5 and J Clark < 6.0.

Cooper has decent prop figures with 8.3

Stats may suggest that Philbin was poor this afternoon but I don't think he was. He still needs to be better but he clearly tried to run better lines and ran hard IMO. Cooper is still our best, bullock made 1 bad PTB error but was good otherwise, mulhern ran hard and was solid.

I'm a lover of many sports and I don't think I've ever known a set of fans to be so pro coach/manager after a bad run of form.

But I agree with it. I'd much rather get rid of the dissidents than get rid of Powell. They've had it far too easy for too long.

The players are dumb at times. Just watching the last try and the set restart on tackle 5. FFS.

My suspicions lie with the players that have played under Smith, Price and Powell. Getting the first sacked, embarrassing the second, and frustrating the third.

Despite being done at the death, I thought that was one of our better performances this season. We carried the ball and defended with more vigour, but still seem to back off a bit too much when defending our flanks. Peter Mata'utia made good yards by running forwards rather than sideways, but I only saw him pass once during the game, with around 1 minute left. We need to bring some attacking threat to our right edge, otherwise were too easy to defend against as defences know where we'll be attacking.

In a strange way i quite enjoyed the match. It showed we were prepared to work hard and but for some questionable refereeing decisions we would’ve won. I’m loathe to criticise refs normally…but Currie sin bin? Forward passes called by the crowd. That 6 again where i felt the Hull player moved forward but would need to see it again. As for that try???
However this was a major step forward in Thewlis’s development. I thought our pack stood up to Hull’s bigger men. 2 games in a short turnaround looked too much for Widdop. Longstaff seems very strong for a lighter looking bloke.
As for issues in the camp, there is a reason that “change management” plays a big part in all areas of management. Getting people to buy in takes a while.
So, disappointed with the defeat but not downhearted.
