So it it was definitely one of Cooper's family members. So that's cleared that up then.

We don't know the ins and outs of what has gone on behind the scenes, but Cooper has a long track record with us and it isn't a track record of being a "troublemaker". He wasn't a problem for Cullen, TS or Price. He's been signed by Wigan for next year, who have one of if not the most professional set up in the game, and whatever things are causing a dispute between him and Powell are obviously not a problem for Wigan.

So, in the absence of knowing more information on what has gone on on the inside here, it seems to me like something has gone very wrong if the relationship with a long standing respected professional like Cooper has deteriorated.

Also disappointing that some Wire fans are slagging him off based on forum rumours. Cooper has contributed more to Wire than any other home grown product since Mike Gregory in the 80s. He's the most significant player to come out of our Academy for 30 odd years.

So for me he holds the very highest status of Wire players, whatever happens now for the rest of his career. If he goes to Wigan and wins a Grand Final with them good luck to him as that would be a fitting way to cap off his career.

This is all from a very reliable source within the club. Powell has been warned by Middleton and Fitzpatrick regarding his conduct and how he is treating people.

DP has been using these excuses for years was the same at Cas and when he was at Leeds. Personally just don’t think he’s a very good coach anymore. Highest Salary Cap spend in the league and he can’t get them playing.
