Waterhouse was superb

I love it when you go into denial over your little 'exclusives' you post on here - You actually stated that Waterhouse wanted to leave for personal reasons, though obviously you couldn't name sources because there wasn't one (your imagination or a drunk in the back of your cab doesn't count... ).

I like how you now say it was a rumour, yet when you put it on here, you write it like its 100% nailed on....

I was rather sceptical about Trent in the first 2/3 months of the season, though he was going to be a Matt King and take a year to settle in but I was way off. Has come on tremendously since then and genuinely looks like he's enjoying playing his rugby and more importantly playing for the Wire, judging by his grin as he, Joel Monas and the others at the front of the bus were banging on the front as it pulled into the town hall.

Early in the season I wasn't sure what the fuss was with Waterhouse. I didn't think he was bad, just wouldn't have put him as good a back rower as guys like Burns, Domic etc so wondered how he'd got State of Origin and Test caps. I didn't think he was an improvement on Louis Anderson. But he is really coming to the fore now, a big guy with great strength and work rate, another great signing by Tony Smith, and he is a mark up on Anderson.

waterhouse is immense he is everthing a second rower should be those who doubted him should have watched a bit more NRL. There are very few players who move continents and hit the floor running. along with menzies and few others imo one ofbest second rowers to hit sl from down under.

I have been saying the same to anyone who will listen for ages that Waterhouse is very under rated because he does a lot of work which most supporters dont see.

His defence is good & in attack, while he might not make the metres that the likes of Benny Westwood make, he is a potent threat that holds up defenders which happened 3 times in the 2nd half for Rileys, Atkins & Hodgsons tries.

After watching him in the NRL I knew he'd be a different type of second rower for us compared to Louis Anderson and Ben Westwood.

He's our top tackler and does a lot at marker, due to his size the defence always needs to get numbers on him and then he can still get offloads away. He's backing himself to get to the line now as well.

Waterhouse, Atkins and Riley had the Leeds defence grabbing at shadow all the way through the second half on that side of the field. Its only when you watch the game back that you fully appreciate the space that Trent's runs gave the two outside him.

Took the big day in his stride and had a terrific game. If any proof was needed of his quality it was all there on Saturday.
