Exactly the point i was trying to make, the whole thing is totally ridiculous, they don't even play in the same way, and they're all the future of England backs, and i'd really like to see Ratchford get involved soon as well.

| Quote Steve Ella's Beard="Steve Ella's Beard"I like Myler and I don't think there should even be a Vs Tomkins or Eastmond debate, the future is all 3 of them.

At least you're comparing their full games then instead of just looking at try assists, but nuff said right?
Tbh the whole debate is bloody stupid, and the sooner that [isome[/i Wigan, Warrington and Saints fans stop it and get behind our good young players the better - it's like bloody school kids from the fans, whereas the players actually get along well.'"
Tries and assists combined which is what you want from your halfback, like i've said previously if you measure Tomkins on his metres and tackle busts then play him at prop. I agree with what you say to an extent, it isn't helped when numpty Wigan fans flood our board slagging off our coach and young prodigy, the natural reaction is to defend.

| Well for a start there's 2 positions in the halves, and at international level you need one of them to be able to tackle well and also attack the line and make line breaks and line break assists, oh and acutally kick a 40/20 when looking at stats Leon Pryce blew them both away this season and didn't get a selection so we know its never all about the stats
But there we go again, it's drawing into a comparison when they are different (and complimentary players).
And honestly mate it's not just numpty Wigan fans, you should check out a few of the utter Wire pillocks who live to have a go on our boards, and also say they want to seem him get smashed etc.
I just wish they'd bugger off (all sides) and allow actual discussions about rugby

Tomkins is a class player, agree with what you say in terms of we should be supporting both.

Absolutely mate, Myler is a class player to and i reckon over time they will make a good halfback pairing for England. And yeah we really should be supporting both, and finding a clear role for Eastmond as well as he's got fantastic ability (He'd be great at FB with Tomkins and Myler at 6 & 7)

| Same old story with some of our posters on this site. Any chance to run a Warrington player down. No doubt they will quote themselves as 'realists' but when push comes to shove it's the same old stuff with just a different players name in the post.

| Quote Mark="Mark"How did you come to the conclusion that Tomkins and Eastmond are better then?
'" Quite simple, when i have watched Salford Previous to our interest in Myler he never stood out to me as anything special. The few times i have seen him play after i knew we were looking to recruit him, again he didn't stand out. Whereas the games i have seen with Tomkins and Eastmond playing they have looked a cut above.
Simples!

Myler looked way out his depth playing in the quater final against us and the league game against us. He went missing.
I wouldn't class this as a fair assesment.
It's not just about 1 or 2 games, Tomkins has looked amazing in high pressure games that Myler has not even come close to playing in yet. But on the other hand Myler has looked great in a poor team with poor players around him.

| Quote gary numan="gary numan"You're right, we aren't going to agree on this. Having not seen (or noticed) a lot of myler previously i used last night's game to watch his play. I have to say his involement in the first half was nominal. He took his tries very well in the second half and i believe he will score a lot of tries for us. I can see him being on hand when a break is made which is a talent in itself. When i say Eastmond and Tomkins being miles ahead is that they have a more rounded game offering more options to their team mates. Myler hasn't played much lately and i'm hoping it's just a case of feeling his way back into the game.
I'm presuming Burrows is unavailable as he is imo the better option still at scrum half for England'"

Make your mind up, have you seen him or not, I think not to be honest.
