I’m not sure we should ever be praising effort, that should be an absolute given every game.

We have to many players who are simply not good enough. We played okay, granted I’d have expected a reaction after last week. Saints were garbage but still won.

Forward pass was the difference, but 5h1t happens. Wel'l never have a better chance to break a losing run, but we messed up.

Now we need to follow it up with similar effort against a Wigan side hurting from a Wakey defeat.

You come across as a bit of a tool when you can't see the difference between that performance tonight and what we have been serving up in the last two months.

As I said it’s all well and good putting a bit of a performance in against Saints at home when you’ve just been embarrassed at home the week before. In the last 18 months this team has shown when we come up against your Wakefield’s, Castlefords, Leigh’s etc they don’t want to know.

I’ll revisit your comment in three weeks time when we’ve played Wigan, Wakefield and Catalans.

We've all been moaning about our performances and rightly so. This is the St Helen's match thread where we played quite well.

LTS has a point in that the next 3 games are massive in respect how we approach them. We need a minimum of 4 points IMO and no plucky losses.

But WE LOST.

Saints were garbage, the worst I’ve seen them play against us for years and they still beat us. And you’re saying we played well, what does that say about us? Then you’ve got Daryl Powell saying we’ll win the GF if we play like that. Good grief.

That was much better from the boys.

Saints only won due to crap officiating again.

Ref missed two forward passes that led to tries for saints and calling that drop ball from Hurrell with 10 minutes to go as a rip was complete garbage… at best the ref guessed.

Well, as a paid up member of the moaning minnies club, I'll try and accentuate the positive.

Much better with ball in hand and defence looked much more desperate. With better options off the bench we may well have snatched it.

Much needed reinforcements in the pack back next week and Wigan showed their vulnreability tonight ...... but we need tonights levels and more if we are to get the season back on track.
